Girl!! I’m so with you on the stress of the checking for the availability of reservation system hourly, the health concerns, etc. We have been on the fence about our July trip too. We kind of feel trapped due to our soon to expire points and not having the ability to book another trip within the extended time. I’m ready for the Great Unpleasantness to end!!!

Hi Jen! So sorry I missed the premier! First of all thank you for having such a calming voice! My husband and I went to WDW right after New Year's for a long weekend to meet up with friends. Little did we know what was coming right around the corner! We have been Annual Passholders for years. We were scheduled to go for the first week of May. Right now not even thinking of going for awhile, maybe towards November 2021. I guess I'm just waiting for both worlds to get a little better!

Totally feel you Jen!! We are supposed to go July 7-12 but are still unable to modify our reservations, so we have no idea what's going on! Very frustrating and we wish we could just cancel as well, but being educators, July may be our only time to go and be able to quarantine after without going to work. This is all so crazy!! I'm glad your decision has given you some relief. We had a July trip planned that I pulled the plug on a couple weeks ago. It was bittersweet, but I understand the feeling of relief. I hated the back and forth in my mind deciding if it were worth it or not, and if the 14 day quarantine our state requires after traveling would be worth it. Im going to very happy with my decision to stay put for now too. Looking forward to whatever content you post!

I so appreciate your thoughts on this! I had a trip planned in April that was cancelled and we rebooked for July not knowing when WDW would open again. We got “lucky” that our dates align with the opening dates, but Im feeling conflicted with the restrictions in place, the unknown of booking park/dining reservations, and the rising infection numbers in FL 🙃. I feel your pain! On another note about your channel, I just wanted to say as a viewer I love to just hear your opinion on Disney news! This video is one example of that. As soon as news drops about Disney, your channel is one of the places I turn to to hear thoughtful discussion about it all! We have a trip for the end of November so we can wait and watch and cancel if we need to. Hi Jen! So glad you're at peace with your decision. It is a difficult time and a personal decision. I've had an interesting vantage point as a Disney travel agent, DVC member, annual passholder and fan. I have watched so many clients agonize over the decision. Personally, I have stays booked in June, July and August and I feel like all of the safety measures Delta and Disney have in place make it safer than my 'free for all' grocery store lol.

We just love you! ❤️ Living in NE FL where a 50 person + outbreak was the result of a night at the bar. I actually don’t normally live in Florida (born and bred but also moved away ASAP), but came down early on when a family member was was having unrelated health issues. I was working remotely anyway, so have been down here for awhile. As an ex-cast member and Disney lover, I was so excited when Disney announced reopening-I was driving distance -even a resort only would be great. Reality: there is no way in hell I am doing the theme park or even hotel thing anytime soon. Hopefully by this time year all will be well, but I don’t see myself seriously thinking about going until at least 2021.

I watched the Disney film Atlantis this evening. I had read that Disney may be making a live action version and was mentally casting the actors as I watched the animation. So my suggestion for a video is: Which animations would you like to be made into live action and who would you cast in key roles?

We just cancelled our trip for this December. Too much uncertainty about the virus and my husband has an underlying medical condition that could mean a difficult time recovering if he did catch it. I am actually relieved that we are not going this year. Certainly disappointing but the best decision for us. Thinking about a possible May 2021 trip. So glad your husband is doing well.

Your video Divinely popped up this morning.🙏 Yesterday morning I reserved parks for our family reunion to celebrate my parents 85th & 80th birthday. A year planning. Every special dinner, every fast pass. When Disney announced the day they’d open, the family knew it was just for us. Yep, July 11th! For me, half the fun of a Disney trip is in the planning and the growing excitement that comes with each dining or fast pass reservation. (And reworking those plans and reservations at least 20 times. Haha!) But there is such an unknown this close to the reopening and that alone would diminish my fun factor. We just cancelled our trip officially yesterday. We were just so hesitant with how things are picking back up in Florida, and didn't know what would happen with most of our plans already cancelled, and nervous about our cruise plans or the Halloween parties... and an hour after we called to start pulling everything, we found out Disney cancelled all of the Halloween parties. I think more of the special events we had planned are going to continue to fall away (at least we don't have to hunt down a refund on the party now). It's still sad to think about everything we are all missing out on this year.

After the numbers keep climbing in FLA, I have a gut feeling that they will push back opening. We have DVC reservations July 26, 27, & 28. Since we are DVC and AP...we could enjoy a trip to just enjoy the resort...so, if they still allow them, we will probably still keep the trip. Love the vintage Disney and favorite Disney Plus ideas.

I think a series on planning trips for your kids at different ages would be interesting. For example, avoiding the dark rides that can be scary and planning time for naps for little kids under 5 (maybe avoiding shows if they can't sit that long yet). The kinds of rides and experiences elementary aged children enjoy. Then how to keep the magic and fun alive with your teenage kids (do you let them bring a friend or try to plan it with a second family with a kid of a similar age?). As a parent of one young kid and hopefully a second one soon, I'm already thinking about how our park experiences will likely evolve and change over time and I'd love to watch some videos with tips.

I hope your husband recovers and gets healthier! I understand where you’re coming from, I renewed my AP during closure because of the uncertainty and since i live in the Tampa Bay Area, I was getting concerned. Once WDW did announce and what was going to happen, I decided to cancel my renewal and will take a wait & see approach. Plan to re-examine my options at the 1st of 2021 & possibly later in 2021. That's exactly how we feel, but over on the West coast. We had a D'Land trip planned 6/8 - 6/14 for my son's HS graduation and my sister's 40th bday. We rescheduled for Thanksgiving, but probably won't make it till 2021 at this point. Too expensive for that experience. 🥺

I haven't cancelled my own September Disney vacation yet, but I almost certainly will. The dining plan went away already. They are giving me a 35% room rate discount in compensation, but... the tickets are still Parkhopper Plus, with no changes allowed. There's no more parkhopping, they've said nothing about reopening water parks (the "Plus" part of the ticket), and I have no interest in sports. And for all that Desantis is throwing shade at the NY/NJ area, Florida's COVID rates are spiking.

I had finally decided to join DVC this year and well...not anymore, haha! I was supposed to go in May, then had to push until September...but I don't think I'll take my chances and just wait until it's safer to enjoy the magic. We could see in your eyes how today's content was affecting you. I'm so sorry your Birthday isn't going to be all you had hoped or planned for but I am so glad to hear your husband is recovering. Please know your faithful followers feel just like you. We are all aching to have a little Disney escapism, but we all know that we are not going to get that from the Parks right now. I was hoping you were going to get to go if for no other reason you would be able to really tell us what it was really like. Please continue to keep us updated on Disney content and DVC news. I love the idea retro Disney info. I first went to Disney World in 1972 and honeymooned there in 1986 then became DVC members in 2005. Disney is a part of my DNA and I miss just sitting in the parks and people watching and watching the magic happen in families lives.

Great decision! I canceled my August trip in April and banked the points (my use year is September so had to make a choice). It’s too expensive to go with current restrictions, which are 100% necessary

Our Disney vacation was supposed to have been March 16-25, 2020 so you can imagine how stressful that was! We only go every other year so we were sad to not be going (it's our Christmas gift for the kids and ourselves) but we were relieved when we cancelled and were no longer worried about it. We cancelled before flights stopped and just before the parks were closed but we had no problem getting our DVC points and park ticket situation resolved without us needing to do anything difficult. I might follow your example and book something for early 2021 and just "wait and see." That said, we're Canadian so for us the border/flights are another layer of the situation for us.

I know that feeling of relief after a canceled trip. We canceled May but had September already booked. Now I am going through that same anxiety, especially bc we live in NJ and ultimately may NOT be able to come in September anyway. I got flight vouchers from May and possibly may end up with more from September. We are DVC members *1992* and annual passholders. So, as you said about you January trip.... I will just wait until 31 days out to cancel or sooner if things change. Take care and thanks for all your videos. You certainly have brought JOY while in quarantine and before too!

Completely agree. We had an ABD(ourfirst) for my husband’s 50th and our 25th Anniversary in September for Italy. We cancelled it yesterday. They prefer probably would have cancelled it, but we have trip insurance, so we just cancelled it. And agree it Riviera. Not only resale restrictions, but also the cost per point. They need a more moderate resort IMO.

Completely agree, Beth! DVC moves from a family thing to a luxury thing and I honestly think they lost a lot of customers in the process.

We are going to cancel 2 upcoming Disney trips for this year. It's stressing me out thinking about how to plan trips for next year if they keep changing the rules about when things can be scheduled and planned and if park reservations will be needed. Eek! Interesting about the Reflections resort. I would love to see Disney build another RV park/campground. Judging by how difficult it is to get reservations at Fort Wilderness most of the time, and noticing that RV sales are through the roof in recent times, I think this would be a wise decision.

We were supposed to check in on July 11th. We had a laundry list of reasons to cancel, so we rescheduled for Feb 2021 and are hoping to take some kind of non-Disney road trip this summer. It does make me sad to hear how people lashed out at you. I hope your husband feels better soon.

Hey Karen, cancelled celebration means you get to cancel getting a year older too! In fact this whole year we should ALL get to skip this year's birthday and not add another number to our ages. I love how excited you were, sorry you had to cancel but I live here, in fact across the street from Magic Kingdom, and I'm retired after 17yrs at Disney, where I loved working and always loved going...but I'm diabetic and as hard as it is to stay inside, I REALLY MISS the parks and WANT TO SUPPORT THEM as much as I can. You are right that things have changed FOREVER, and 2021 was to be a BIG CELEBRATION w/tons of new things and all of that is going to get changed as well.

I’m sorry you’re canceling your trip but I think so many of us are right there with you that it just doesn’t feel right to go now and even if it did, it’s so weird and vague and constantly changing that it’s just stressful and not fun to plan. I know you will still be able to bring us lots of great Disney content and we will be here for it. I’d love to hear some of your traditions with your kids during various ages and stages of their lives and how you keep the Disney magic alive in between trips. I know you’ve touched on that some but I feel like even more so now I’m looking for ways to add magic to our lives and fun. I feel like summer is going to stretch out slowly in front of us (our school year just ended and won’t start back until after Labor Day. 😬 Assuming we get to send the kids to school in the fall. 😳🤞🏻)

Lets take a stroll down memory lane with Disney; Disney +; and everything Disney. I always wondered if Disney was considering another Park. They are certainly building more hotel accommodations, for more quests with the same amount of park space? With C-19 and social distancing Disney does not need more hotels to jam more people in.

We had reservations over the 4th of July week at Gran Destino and Pop Century with my family. Since they are both closed they offered us an upgrade to a 2 bedroom deluxe villa at Saratoga Springs! We may just do a girls trip and relax and go to the pool.(No parks). I’m a nurse and have taken annual summer visits for the past 8 years with some of my coworkers and we spring for a nice room at the Beachclub. So sad to not be able to continue the tradition of floating along the lazy river at Stormalong Bay and sipping a cocktail 🍹 from Hurricane Hannah’s.I’m so happy to hear your husband is better! This is the first year in 18 years that I have not been to Disneyworld, and I won't be going this year. I miss it so much. Living in Florida, I continue to social isolate, go out for supplies/ groceries, and that is it. I am taking this seriously as well. Exactly. If someone said to me you can go but you will probably be very sick for about 10 days when you get home and you might have complications that could be very serious . . . I would not go. This is basically the question, at least for us. It's far less about the diminished experience, honestly, and more about minimizing our risk! We have so much to be grateful for and in the big picture, postponing a vacation by a few months is such a small sacrifice.

I think it’s important that you said you’re thoughts on everything have “evolved” even since a few weeks ago. A lot of us have tried to stay optimistic about things being not that bad, but obviously as the world has changed, we have to change too. Makes a lot of sense. It's a strange time but at least we are all feeling it. I agree we have spent a lot of time together as a family but I miss spending FUN time together. That is why I will miss not taking our Disney trip this year but I wouldn't go even if they paid me to go at this point. I know they are taking lots of precautions but the risk is just too high for us. I wouldn't exactly call this time fun but it has been necessary in a lot of ways. We have been able to have a lot of serious conversations with our children that we may have fumbled around with or didn't have the right resources to know what things need to be stressed and how to best approach our children. We have been able to work on a lot of things that we didn't have time for before. We feel grateful in a lot of ways and also at the same time super bummed. Thanks for the update! I can't wait to see about Disney-esque thing you do next!

A video suggestion would be trying disney recipes! And I am not even so sure next May, things will be back to normal for a dis parks trip. We are going to schedule it but we might change it to a vero beach trip if things are still weird at the parks.
