I just wanted to point out a minor correction here...xeroderma pigmentosum is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder in which the individual has a malfunctioning DNA repair enzyme that is unable to correct thymine dimers; these individuals are more susceptible to skin cancer caused by UV radiation as a result (which you pointed out); however, UV radiation does not cause the mutation in the DNA repair enzyme directly. You said that "retrovirus e.g HIV can cause cancer" but I studied that all retroviruses except HIV can cause cancer... would you please clear out my confusion...

Riffat Seemab HIV also cause some secondary neoplasias and at later stages even cancer
