Thank you. Experiencing some really difficult things with my teenage son. I've been walking on egg shells so that he doesn't fly into a rage, and it's hard because my job is to protect and guide this person into adulthood, and sometimes lately, I don't know who he is anymore.. His dad was abusive, but I left him when my son was very small. His behavior is nearly identical to his dad even though he never really witnessed any of his dads abuse. Paul, it's amazing how accurate your readings are! This reading seemed to be directed right for me. I live in a lovely country town. But there is a Cement plant about 1/2 a km away as the crow flies. They crush rock and produce cement and soda ash. The noise at night in particular is so bad that I have to use ear plugs to block the sound and have even had to resort to listening to brown noise on youtube or running my air con to block it. This has been happening on and off for many years and is literally driving me mad, I have just had 3 nights of such disturbed sleep that I am so exhausted I can hardly function. For years I have been dreaming of living off grid, on acres, away from a township, but just can't seem to find a way to do that. It is a good neighbourhood and my family and friends live here, so its very difficult to think of moving. I have a lovely big garden, good neighbours, and its a pretty place. BUT! The noise is affecting my well being. I am deeply frustrated about this and am regularly in contact with the company, but it seems things will never change ... so its a very challenging ordeal. My next step is to call for a public meeting to find out if it bothers anyone else, and then I might get some support to make them spend the money to make the plant quieter. There seems to be no other way than to persist with getting the company to do the right thing at this stage. One thing I am good at is Persistence! Gah!!! This 'quiet waters' little crab definitely feels like I am in the fish tank, and not in the calm waters of the deep blue sea where I belong ....

You are describing my life. I'm 7 months out from retirement. The job l'm doing is mind numbing however I know I can let go until February and I'm afraid to let go entirely (I'm considering going part time in Feb) because I'm scared to retire because of the unknown. Crazy how on point you are!

I actually really like the crocs analogy 😂 I really resonated with the message on a personal level but you’re crocs story just made it that much more comprehensible! Yesterday I found a 6yr old pair of Nikes that I have worn maybe 1-3 times a year since I got them bc they hurt my feet! They’re really nice & still look brand new, but it’s torture trying to wear them. So why do I?… Also, I don’t have crocs bc they hurt my feet too 😅
