I truly know how you feel because I’m 13 and I also have cancer. It really gets the best of you but I’m just trying to live my life to the fullest and enjoy my life because I don’t know what will happen next. But, I still go to school and try to go to dance everyday because I’m just not giving up💕 I am really sorry and my dad has been battling cancer for 6 years and it’s been tough on all of us. My Aunt also has cancer as well and my little brother also had cancer again. I am so sorry and I truly believe all that you’re saying and it’s really scary and our family is a very strong believer in god. I am so sorry again and I love you so much💕❤️💗

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you get better and thank you for sharing your story. You’re a true fighter and you’ve become stronger. I wish the best for you, and though I’ve not had cancer nor anyone in my family has, I still want to be able to support it. I’m glad you can get an education considering the circumstance you’re in, I don’t know how I’d be able to go to school with such a melancholy and severe illness like that. Heck, I get headaches and I make a big deal about it and say I can’t go to school, that just makes me feel terrible about myself! Please get better, and I will pray to god for you, your family, and everybody else that is suffering from cancer. ❤️💜💖

Cancer really does get the best people in this world. After a 9month battle my Mom passed away in 2013 from cancer. A month prior to her passing I was with my Mom sitting in the Doctors office listening to him tell my mom and I that he expects her to go into remission, my mom was feeling great and looking wonderful. 3 weeks later she was in hospice. Sometimes a thought will come to me and for a second I think I need to call mom and that gut wrenching feeling hits me. It's been 5 years and it still just breaks me. I am thankful she's not in pain anymore. Nobody deserves to ever feel that kind of pain. Prayers for your friend and to you Bonnie.

i do the same thing with my dad, especially sometimes after I've just woken up and am still half asleep. the worst time of really wanting my dad would have had to been when i got a blood test in hospital a few weeks ago, i was having pain in my stomach, and my mum and i were thinking it might have been my appendix, so we went to emergency. first time I've been there for myself since i was a baby, which i obviously don't remember, and since i was there for my dad really, but for me hospitals especially the 2 hospitals my dad was in is so difficult to go to them, like the trauma of being there was just horrible. anyway but i had to get a blood test, I'm petrified of needles, haven't had a blood test probably ever, and haven't had any other needles since before school. so this was such a huge deal. they gave me gas which didn't do anything other than making me light headed, and heavy, was it was very traumatic, and i was in absolute hysterics the whole time, but also the whole time all i wanted was my daddy, i was even able to get those words out after thinking them for almost the whole time at the end, but only my mum heard, and I'm know she found it oh so difficult. geez i miss him so much. he passed away 19 months ago, after battling terminal brain cancer for 19 months and then in the last 3 month of his life he was diagnosed with bowel cancer that wasn't responding to treatment cause his stupid gp didn't catch it early enough just thought it was constipation and that the huge mass in his bowel was nothing more than the fact that he was constipated, thankfully his cancer doctor knew something was off and she did something about it, although it was too late, she was just amazing, miss seeing her 1,2,3,4 weeks for his appointments. and I'm so sorry for the loss of your mum!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October at 27 and it’s the most life changing experience for not only the person but for their friends and family. I can feel your pain all the way over here ♥️ the best thing you can do for your friend is remain the same. Don’t treat them any different because that’s the worst part is all the sympathy. Laugh a lot and pretend it’s not happening but be there when they want to talk about it. It’s scary. I even sent you a letter right before I was diagnosed asking for prayers because I didn’t know what was going to happen but it did and I’m still here and laughter is the best way to get through it. Really it’s the only way. ♥️♥️

Bonnie, hearing your words makes it even more real. My dad is unfortunately dying to cancer right now. It stinks because he is the best man out there and there is nothing worse, however I encourage you, and anyone reading to look at this situation in a positive light. Tell those that you are around that you love them, go the extra mile and just BE NICE to everyone. You never know what someone or some families are going through. Gods got this and He is the only one that is truly in control.💛 stay strong friends

Bonnie, this really means a lot. I am 11 years old and 3 months ago I was diagnosed with cancer. It was a super long name but I will try and find what it’s called. You’re right. The amount of pokes and prods you have to go through is terrible. I am currently taking 11 pills 2 times a day and let me tell you, it’s absolute misery. You also have to take Bacdrom which is a pneumonia preventative. You take it twice a day on the weekends for however long you’re battling. Bonnie. Thank you so much, and I give prayers to your family and friends.❤️

My Papaw died from cancer Nov.5 2018. He had one of the most aggressive cancers. He had some type of brain tumor. It got to the point that he had to have a hospital bed in his bedroom. He couldn’t walk and he eventually had to use a breathing machine. A couple weeks before he passed he could only mouth and barely say I love you. He meant soooo much to so many people, it was like he was famous or something? He had so much humor, so much joy, good personality, he was a great dad and Husband, a great Papaw, and he loved us all so very very much. Cancer really does get to the best people.

I know you don’t want to hear this but I need to get this off my mind. This year (since the beginning of 2018) I have lost 3 extremely important people to cancer. I lost my friends dad. He had 2 different types of cancer and had it since I was born. The other one is my other friends mom. She is very missed in this community. And the last one was the worst. My best friend passed away from very harsh cancer. It was 2 days before her and her twin brothers birthday. He said all he wanted to do was stay home and do nothing. He didn’t want a party or anything. She is a year older that me but I still leaned so so so much from her. I miss her every day. Not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought of her. I am only 12 (I was 11 when they all passed away) but this is so much for me to take on. My mind is overflowing with school work, but on top of that I have to walk through life without my best friend. ❤️I love you Mary❤️ Also my mom had skin cancer when I was 3. She is good now but thankfully it never got severe. Thank you for reading this❤️❤️❤️

Im sorry to hear about your friend. My dad last year was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer that spread to his colon and lymph nodes. He was told he had 6 months left to live. He went through many treatments. Then he was able to get part of his liver removed. About a month ago my dad was told he is in remission. He is a miracle. The doctor told us he is one in a million. He went through so much pain, but it was worth it. Please never give up, and never stop praying.

Oh Bonnie, I'm so sorry about your friend. It's so true what you said, having that reassurance that we'll see our families again has been such a huge comfort for me. I didn't realize just how much until I lost my cousin very suddenly last year. It's been a really difficult time, but I have hope that I'll see him someday in a place where there is no more pain and no more tears. Keep holding on to that hope and that faith that you have! We may belong to different denominations, and I know some people will say that the differences are too great to be even the same "religion", but as a Christian myself, I truly believe that we love the same Saviour. In the rare moments that you and Joel speak about your faith, I can see that love radiating through you and the way you raise your children. I can only hope to raise my future kids in a home that loves and trusts God as much as yours does. So much love for you and your beautiful vulnerability!

As someone who has lost a loved one to cancer, I know that unsolicited advice is the absolute worst. However, I will share this one piece of advice with you: don't let anyone tell you how to feel or how to react (not even me). It is OK to cry, and to be sad, or to feel whatever it is that you're feeling. Spend time with the people you love, say all the things you feel you need to say, and make the most of the time you have with your grandfather.

You are so spot on ... Cancer is UGLY! It recently took the life of a student I had during my student teaching semester. Several others I know of are currently battling that awful disease. It is so ugly. And it always goes after the BEST people.

You hear cancer so much and feel for the people who has it, but you truly don't know it till you or a loved one goes though it. My mom passed away from pancreatic cancer and that sucked so bad. I hate it, it took my mom away with so much more. I'm sorry to you and to your friend and her family. Thoughts and prayers 💜💜

Everything you have said is why I decided to work in cancer research, working in the lab can sometimes be so frustrating especially when things don’t work the way you want them to. And then I remember every single person I have lost to cancer, and everybody that is and will be fighting cancer deserve better treatments, better diagnostic tools and all of that starts with better understanding of how each cancer works. Some days are tedious, and frustrating but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Bonnie, I’m sending you a big hug & my prayers!! For your friend as well. I’ve been fighting cancer since 2011. I have lost most of my right lung and have had to have my airway reconstructed. I also lost my sweet Momma to this beast. I couldn’t have made it, this far without my faith and I sure wouldn’t even want to try!!! I was diagnosed at Stage IIIb. It sure has changed me in more ways than one, and more than anything it has made me SO appreciate the small things in life. 💕

I’m so sorry. Cancer really does get the best people. My cousins wife had just given birth to her son in 2013, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was one of the strongest people I knew, and she fought for 4 year, getting rediagnosed when they’d get rid of it, spending months in the hospital away from her son. She dies in March of 2017 and I’ll never forget how I felt when my cousin told me.

Bonnie, I am very sorry to hear the news about your friend. These thoughts can be overwhelming and distressing, and generally I think we all share the same fears about developing cancer in our lifetime, or fear of our loved ones having to face it. You know yourself better than anyone, but if you're feeling like you can't escape that fear and overwhelming dread please seek help. I love the quote from Mr. Rogers that says to "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping". Sometimes in order to be able to help and be present to others, we must accept help ourselves to endure the journey. Sending you love and strength.

Bonnie my mom has breast cancer last year. She fought hard and won only for it to come back 10 months later in her brain. She is fighting again. Fighting with everything she's got. We are Lutherans and we believe the same as you. But some days that just isn't enough for me to not feel angry or sad. When you said "I feel like I'm next." You made me feel not so alone. I felt like I was crazy thinking that. I don't know I just feel like it. Your friend is in my prayers and so are you & Ellie 💜

Hugs and so much love to you Bonnie. Cancer does suck. It sucks big time. I see it everyday working in oncology. We get to know our patients and families and it always breaks our hearts when we one passes. They tell us all the time that we are like family to them. We always celebrate the happy moments with them and we shed a tear with them when they do. Your friend is lucky to have you. I wish I could do something to help her through this time. I am sending you all my love and keeping you and her in my prayers.
