My personal experience as a cancer rising, aries moon I can see the relationship with my mom who happens to be a Scorpio (ruled by mars, same as Aries) she was the primary financial provider for our family and was self employed for a while. This makes perfect sense since my moon is in my 10th house. I love everything you said about instinct vs intuition. They are very different and both play a huge role in how I live out my life. I go off vibes and first impressions and when someone turns out to be a problem I was right from the beginning. Having my moon fall in my 10th as well as having Pisces rule my 10th I feel a great need to be of service to others in some way when it comes to my career. I'm currently processing some ways I can go about changing paths right now because working in a cubicle is not cutting it. With an Aries moon and Leo sun I feel it's really easy for me to be independent. The whole bit about having trouble leaving home didn't really resonate with me since so much fire gives me so much independence. I also feel the Aries moon helps me move on from emotions quite easily. I process the feelings quickly and move on because my Leo sun doesn't have the time to feel sad or pessimistic lol

I have a saggitarius sun, I'm a cancer rising with my virgo moon in my 4th house (home, roots, family THE MOTHER). So I guess I'm very cancer. The stability seeking thing is so there! In my case my cancer asc manifests as not being able to open up to people for a loooong time before I finally get the guts to enter a group. I swear, every school i've been in it took me 2 whole years to open my mouth and speak to someone and actually have it make me some friends :D I can't count the times i've heard from people "you seemed so shy and quiet" and then they get to know me and my saggitarius sun and mercury and they are mind-blown. I'm a cancer rising with a sagittarius sun and a libra moon. I've just recently looked at my whole birth chart and realized what it means to be a cancer rising. I never knew that your rising sign was so important. I like the way you explained everything and I think you hit on some important points with cancer rising. I've found that my rising sign affects me a lot throughout my life and I've never seemed like a typical sagittarius to most people. I'm really quiet, sometimes serious, hate getting too much attention, nervous around people I'm meeting for the first time, kind of anti-social and more about one-on-one relationships...etc. I've also recently noticed that the qualities of my rising sign get me into trouble sometimes. I feel everything and I'm very reactive and take my time with expressing how I feel. I tend to go into a shell when I feel hurt by people and I repress so much. I started trying to be more confrontational with friends, but I think it's coming out all at once in a very explosive and hurtful way to them. I can't polish my words. I'm very blunt with the truth and yet I still care so much about hurting people's feelings. Is my combination of sun, moon, and rising sign very unusual or what do you think of it?

My fiancé is a cancer rising with his moon in virgo in the 3rd house. He is very similar to his mother, even in appearance. She has her sun in capricorn. She is ambitious and successful in her career. When I first met my fiancé years ago he was struggling in school. At the time he was going into engineering, even though he didn't enjoy many aspects of the field. He loves history, politics and music. His interests are extremely important to him (moon in the 3rd) but he always pursued his future with the intent to make money. Since then he has pursued being a social science teacher instead. He has broken out of his comfort zone and is the drummer in a band. I think it is well said that the moon chart ruler's life is guided by their intuition and sense of security. When the cancer rising carves their own path based off of their intuition they will find that they are happier because they're simply not ruled by their fears. They allow their intuition and concerns to guide them in beneficial ways and protect them from even sabotaging themselves.

My friend is a virgo sun, pisces moon and have a cancer rising and he's studying to be a policeman, he does a voluntary fireman from childhood and he loves to help others and he's very caring. As a Cancer rising, I have Aquarius Moon, Capricorn Sun, and Mars in Scorpio as the final depositor of my chart. I think in my younger years my personality was overpowered by the influence of my Moon, Sun and Mars. My Cancerian qualities, my brooding tendencies, my sensitivity and vulnerability, my animal magnetism and my barometric readings of other people’s emotions were things that my Aquarian, Capricornian, and Scorpionic sides tried to master and eliminate. I did not consciously recognize my Cancerian qualities. I wonder if the qualities of our rising signs are actually more unconscious. They are the atmospheres we generate within ourselves and around us, the water we swim in. We live it without putting any efforts in maintaining it. It does not have any particular feel to us (at least my rising sign did not have a particular feel to me until I tried hard to differentiate its feel), unlike our sun signs and moon signs, which can often be readily translated into some values and behaviors we recognize. I wonder if anyone resonates with this. Great video and it got me thinking about my Cancer rising in a much more in-depth way.

Cancer rising. With all my planets except 3(Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto) are in Capricorn. 6/7 of those Capricorn planets are in my 7th house while the other Capricorn planet is in my 6th house. I attract A LOT of Libras lol.I'm extremely sensitive. I'm always mothering my family and having nieces brings that maternal feeling out. It is hard for me to be free and comfortable with my feelings and emotions. I have a big heart and kind of naive sometimes. I am an aqua sun, cancer rising and sag moon in the sixth house !! It was great to have your point of view on that placement haha. I relate a lot to what you said, i noticed that I have a very strong intuition and I tend to push it away if I sense that it would put me in an unconfortable position. But it always gets stronger and eventually I juste can’t ignore it anymore! Recently I broke up with my boyfriend, we had been together for 3 years and nothing was wrong but it started to feel like I was « trapped » and I didn’t have enough place to grow. He is an amazing person but it juste wasn’t for me anymore. Initially I ignored this feeling because I felt awful and did not want to break up with him, but it’s almost like I was forced to do it because of this gut feeling and I also felt like I wasnt being honest neither with him or with me when I told myself we could get through it.... so yeah I guess that’s a good illustration of how I deal with my intuition ! Sometimes it’s hard to listen to it because you start to doubt and second guess yourself but if I look back everytime I had a gut feeling like this it never failed to be right in the end. Yes I think the main thing about Cancer Rising is more so to do with the caregiver - the one who did nurture or care for you as a child - I do understand though that this can be various - especially if it's someone who was raised in an orphanage for example - many different scenarios - but I think ultimately it's about how you go through life really feeling things out and responding emotionally to situations - and how you receive and provide care

Interesting! :-) My daughter is a Cancer with Libra Rising, but at 27deg, which then places her Leo Moon conj. Jupiter (15geg and 18deg) into her 10th house in Leo. Again, Placidus House System. Her MC is at 2 deg. Leo as well. I can see the tendencies of your friend's Moon as a Cancer Sun playing out in my daughter, just that it's not so much about 'possessions' but 10th house endeavors of who she wants to be in life. She's still a teenager, and of course most teen-agers have this dream of being famous! ;-) She is actually shy with the public, or let's say 'new people', and sticks much to herself besides a couple close friends. Yet, she wants to be popular and famous among her peers, and her actual 'behavior', the way she keeps 'staying a hermit' does not go in alignment with what, or who she wishes to represent 'in the world', you know. In this sense the way she actually carries herself around is just opposite to what she wants, or how she wishes to be seen in society. She is now thinking of becoming YT-Tube famous, does not know how exactly yet, since this would not require her to actually 'go out there' as to mingle with groups of people face-to-face in the 'real world'. I don't know if there is money in it for her to provide for herself growing into an adult, after all YT is more a 'hobby type of endeavor' and money is hardly made by any to pay the bills. I'm Cancer rising with moon in Aquarius in the 7th house. I think this manifests in that I feel very alone, even when surrounded by people. I want to find someone that truly understands me on a deep level. I found someone like that, and when they left I was shattered. She had a Pisces sun, Aries Mars/Mercury, and Aquarius Venus, so of course she would get bored with me and "move on", especially considering that we were never actually in a "relationship", but I actually have a whole stellium in the 7th house including Neptune (and my Sun and Uranus), so I was actually somehow taken by surprise when it all fell apart. Keep in mind, this was all in high school, so I was actually pretty young to be this obsessed with a girl. (And in case you were wondering, I have Pluto in the 5th house and 5th house cusp in Scorpio. And yes, she was "goth" and a Satanist, to go along with the dark themes of that placement.) Furthermore, my Lord of Ascendant (moon) being in Aquarius, I am very much emotionally connected with my contributions to society. From a young age, I've always wanted to make a big impact on the world. I immediately decided it had to be music, which makes sense; 5th house Pluto makes creative self-expression something I am very passionate about, and music affects people in an emotional way. Cancer is a cardinal sign, and when it wants to create changes, it strikes at others' emotions. You may have heard Cancers described as "manipulative", and while that may be true in many cases, ultimately Cancer wants to be an emotional leader. And when the moon is in Aquarius... let's just say the world is your family.

Ike Moon Your rising is cancer which is the most feeling sign but your moon is in Aquarius which is the most detached and unemotional sign.. do you feel like you are always in conflict? wow! we have the same placements. i have aquarius moon, cancer rising, mercury capricorn placements too. my sun is in aquarius though. i can relate about feeling alone. i don’t mind being to myself but feeling constant loneliness sucks. being a double aquarian can be a curse & a blessing sometimes since i tend to overthink a lot. my mercury in capricorn causes me to talk slow asf & when information is just thrown at me i can be kinda slow. but i’m really ambitious & i like things organized. my cancer rising causes me to dress more like a soft girl.

Well i really seek for stability but not because Im repeating my childhood. Im seeking it because im afraid of what happened when i was a child. My mother has a narcissistic personality disorder. I grew up between drug addicts and really violent people. I never had my own room when i was a child so i had to experience everything of the crazy world of my mother. I saw her having sex a lot of times. The men she dated abused me verbally and physically. She never cared about that. She kind of saw me as the mother in her life. Because i was the one who cleaned her mess the next Morning and I did this from a very early age. The weekends were the hardest times and somedays she went to parties and she left me alone for days. So thats the other side of Cancer I think. Maybe the other extreme, an absence of nurturing. Well I have my moon in aquarius and Saturn in the 4th House. I think it is a mixture of ingridients that create experiences like these. So not every cancer rising is a loved or even wanted child. However your videos are very helpful and a great addition in my healing process. Im from germany so mayby the grammar of this comment is all over the place

Sometimes oppositions can be very harmonious. Leo loves to get attention and admiration from others, and Aquarius is friends with everybody. Combine these things together and you get someone who wants validation and easily gets it. Aquarius is not egotistic, however, and this is where the conflict starts. Aquarius doesn't care what other people think of them, and you are probably somewhat emotionally detached from yourself. This doesn't mean you don't have emotions, however; you're just able to separate yourself from the situation and look at things more objectively. Aquarius can sort of come off as though they value everybody equally, and don't have much preference for one person over another, which can also be an issue for Leo who wants special attention and needs to reciprocate that attention. So the trick is to find a way to satisfy both your ego (Sun) and your emotional needs (Moon), which probably equates to doing something humanitarian in search of fame. Maybe you want to be known as the rockstar that donated all their money to charity, or the scientist who discovered the cure for cancer (no pun intended), or the president who put an end to (name political thing you disagree with here). All of this depends on the other placements in your chart. I may be totally incorrect, but I figured I'd try to help as best I can.

I really don't think you got this right. You're focusing way too much on moon being a soft planet. I get it. Cancerians are however notorious for being very tough and I think you left that out of the information completely which really gives a misguided image. Remeber the 10th house of the chart is your image to the world. It's the sign of Aries. Cancers are bad motherfuckers, man, Cancerians don't sit at home and cry because someone wouldn't say hello to them. Many, many cancers are very famous in the careers because they are relentless. Not weak children.

Hannah I just watched this video of megan talking about introverted thinking in ENFJs. It has to do with harsh inner voice. As an ENFJ you appearently have a harsh inner critic so I thought maybe this is helpful to you. I know how painful it is to have an inner critic and it is really no fun to live with that...Did you ever write down on paper what your inner critic tells you? When I wrote it all down was when I realised how incredibily harsh my inner critic actually is. It is completely insane.....I believe in regards to intimate conncetion with people whe have the same inner monologue going: "You will never get to form deep connections to people because you are just not worth it. You are the defective and flawed one who simply is different from everyone else. People don't give a shit about you and abandon you because, like I said, you are inherently flawed and don't get to have deep connections. You are going to die alone and no body will notice" this is my inner critic in regards to connections with people. Quite harsh, isn't it? I am deeply sorry if you struggle with that. Hannah's Elsewhere Oh, so glad I could help! Yes, I finally get this feeling of belonging thanks to myers-briggs. It gives me lots of validation. Maybe I reach out to her, too. Hannah, I realised something this morning. You know why it is so god damn hard to heal from messed up parenting? It has to do with a biological programm you have that makes it so that you emotionally bind with your mom. You are biologically hardwired to bind with your caregivers. So you automatically assume that they love you and have your best interest at heart and therefore if they hurt you it must be your fault. It is really ingrained in our psyche to bond with our caregivers. I experience this within myself. I have a hard time fully wrapping my brain around the fact that my "mom" is incapable of loving me and having empathy towards me even though I am her son. I am like: Come on, she has to have my best interest at heart. It's the woman who made me for fuck's sake. So yeah, I can fully attest to the emotional wiring with the mother. This makes it so that whe take everything our parents do to us personally and this can, in the worst cases, completely destroy our lives and cripple us immensely. I mean, I am at the point where I want to cut the tie and I'd rather accept my mom is incapable of loving me (therefore she never had my best interest at heart and it wasn't my fault) than to be crippled by the emotional wiring that has me believe how she treated me says something about me as a person (that speaks volumes about how harsh and unloving my mom is but still I am emotionally wired to believe she cares about me in her own way and I am a shitty person). So how do you feel about the idea that how your mother treated you was due to her own incapability to connect to you? What you said about the lack of emotional connection it was due to your mum being incapable to connect to you, it was never your fault, Hannah! I didn't get connection with my mom either. She never ever hugged me or showed interest in me as a person. She never encouraged me she only critisised me and raged at me. She would only praise me for good grades because they fed her self-image. She never validated my emotions or wanted to know who I am as a person. She never would be like: Hey Alexander, how are you doing, whats going on in your life? Oh thats great, go for it you can do it.... Oh, you don't know yet, don't worry you will figure it out!" None of that....That simply does not exist in my "relationship" with her. And I think it is my fault due to the emotional hardwiring to bind with that woman. So I have to take the blame for how she treats me in order to maintain the belief that she has my best interest at heart. Whe both have problems feeling worthy of connection because whe take the blame for our mothers not having connected to us. It is because whe are hardwired to believe our mothers MUST love us and mean well (in their own messed up ways). But it has to do with our mothers and not with us. So in reality whe both totally are worthy of deep connection and to be our own selves, Hannah. It's our wiring to our mothers that keeps us from FEELING this truth. Like I said, even though my mum treats me so badly I still have huge difficulty to fully feel that it isn't my fault and it is so hard to accept that a mother doesn't love their children....And I am glad that she said she doesn't love me, keep that in mind. It felt like relief as it allows my brain to have consistency and make sense of how she treats me in a way where it isn't my fault (it does speak volumes, right?)....But still I catch myself trying to take on the blame because it is my mum and she MUST have my best interest at heart. So the wiring is real. It's no joke. Maybe it is helpful to be aware that whe are hardwired to bond with our mothers, hence why it is so hard to see the truth and to realise that it was never our fault. By the way you don't need to love your mom to be wired to her. If you hate the guts out of your mum and want to kill her and shit on her remains then you still take what she did deeply personal and think it's your fault. So you are still completely wired emotionally with your mom only in an extremely negative way. How your mom treated you wasn't your fault, Hannah. She is incapable of connecting to you even though you are her daughter! It says nothing about you. You are good and lovable and worthy! It's hard for you to realise because of the emotional wiring. But again you are not alone in this! I have the very same challenge with my mom!

Hannah, in regards to your shyness back then I don't mean it in a judgemental way. It is just that I percieve all these non-verbal signs very easily and then I self-reference with my own emotions. I really don't like judging people. Only thing I hate is when people don't have empathy and hurt each other... I was thinking your ability to take on other peoples emoptions might as well be your jupiter being in 12 as taking on other peoples emotions to me seems very neptunian as there are no boundries between you and other people in regards to emotions? Interesting way to look at it Alexander, with Jupiter in my 12th - I am plugged into the collective unconscious and that's difficult for me - I do find it hard to set boundaries between myself and the collective - I take on other peoples feelings as my own, but learning to not get consumed is a challenge - honestly I'm not sure - it's something I haven't actively done - but I can see through peoples façade they present. Think moon in the 8th helps with this as well though.

I feel that so many people are walking around trying to keep their head above water - we are all just floating along trying to live our lives as comfortably as we can - so many of us are scared, because its how we as a collective have been conditioned. I think this is essentially why so many people aren't aware of their capabilities. Coming out of the age of Pisces has left us in an unknowing state - but as we collectively shift into the Age of Aquarius, so many of us are waking up - becoming conscious beings. And it's these 2,000 years that are going to prepare us for the age of Capricorn when we as a collective become more and more aware of our OWN sense of power. So so many of us are trying to just wash it all away with medication and escaping mechanisms, but people are not aware of this as they believe that it's just them 'having fun'. I sense a huge disconnect, but as more and more people begin to awaken they might realise their true intentions behind what they do.

Hannah's elsewhere I feel the same. People don't feel loved and therefore they feel like they are lacking and that they are disconnected from the rest of humanity. The 4th house has such a tremendous impact on how whe feel about the world and ourselves in it. Ideally in the 4th house you learn that you are loved and that you belong in the world. After all the 4th house stands for our roots. So whe better be rooted in love and belonging. You are hardwired to bond with your primary nurturing figure (mother). If your mother is shit then this is a life-sentence. That shows how huge of an impact the 4th house has. So humanity needs to become conscious of the 4th house and root itself in love and care and belonging. There probably wouldn't be any issues on this planet if everyone felt loved and like they belonged. But how do you implement the 4th house into human consciousness? This is what I am trying to figure out for myself. Problem is that this isn't an intellectual problem but an emotional one. There needs to be a way to speak to peoples emotions to make them feel that they are loved and that they belong. How do you reach people who have been traumatised and make them feel that they are in fact loved and that they belong?

There is a lot i agree with and feel connected to. But my Mother was everything but caring. She was homeless beeing pregnant with me and she left me alone all the time. She was drunk a lot and had sex for money. I met my father in the age of 25 and he was in jail for a long time. My stepfather was incredibli violent against me (mars(taurus) opposite Pluto (scorpio)) and often told me that im a whore and he will kill me. My mother was just standig at the side. Not protective at all! So I think it could be both extremes either too much security from the mother or none at all. I think it depends on many other factors. But I get you. For me its all about security. But because I had a dangerous childhood. And maybe its the same when the mother hides you from the world. However. Security is a big topic here. Sorry if my grammmar ins t that good. Im from germany. I really like your videos :)

Judging by how you have Cancer rising, there's a good chance you have Pluto in the 4th house, which would explain a lot. (I have Pluto in the 5th house and Cancer ascendant, and Pluto is a very slow planet.) Chiron in the 4th house and/or planets in Scorpio would also indicate a rough childhood, as well as Saturn in the 4th or 5th house.
