My father in law had IBS for a long period but suddenly change in bowel like one day constipation , other day loose stool, slowly weight loss. As soon as we observed blood stinged mucous in stool he underwent colonoscopy with biopsy and was diagnosed as rectal cancer. He under went surgery at the age of 85 yrs and he survived till 92yrs without chemo and radiation
