kind of makes you wonder just how stable a field it is to get into....being that if there becomes a simple pill and linear acceleration machines prove to be a thing of the past.... umm what happens to the therapists if an oncologist can simply prescribe medication?

Well, I am on oral chemotherapy for stage 4 breast cancer right now (so 5 years after you asked) and I can assure you that these meds/toxins are not nearly as simple or effective as the video makes them out to be. Though, I've had a few different oncologists over the past few years and I at this point I tend to think of them more as glorified permission slip signers that hate being asked questions yet question whether or not you know anything about your own body when you have a side effect that they are confused that you bring up having, even though they'll be the one who asked if you were experiencing it (because it's on a checklist of tons of symptoms they have to reord your answer to, but usually don't bother helping you change. Oh and breast cancer incidence and mortality rates are on the rise in many age groups, including at younger ages where such a thing would have been exceedingly rare a couple decades ago. So, yeah, maybe we don't need oncologists anymore. I'm at the point where I seem to know just as much as my oncologist about breast cancer and what treatment I should be on, but I don't have the permission to sign my name on the permission slips, sigh...

@@empathagain I agree with your comment 100 % I am a cancer patient Carer of my cognitive impaired father in law and it frustraste me that the doctors “know” everything without knowing....not even taking into consideration the added challenge of a cognitive impaired patient. Us carers know their pattern and know the real person, they only get to see them for 10 minutes every few weeks...
