Thanks a lot Kenzie. Cancun was really a great place. We're in Tulum right now, to the south of Cancun. The beaches look even more idyllic here. We'll post a video in a few days.

Thank you so much for the tips. This will be very handy. Mexico is on our top five to go to. Doing it more economical than the costly hotels is awesome. However flighttickets can be very costly . Finding the good one and it will be fantastic. Hostels is not for us I think but airbnb would be enough. :)

@@KimDirix I'm planning on going in end of Feb. with the gf also. Took note of the places you mentioned and making an itinarary now. Only question I have is do you think renting a car to get around is worthwhile? I'm staying in downtown/centro for a few nights then tulum for a few nights as well. Figured driving will let us go anywhere we want with no worries about timetables etc... Appreciate your thoughts on this!
@KimDirix5 жыл бұрын
@@platan0 oh awesome, I am sure you'll have a great time! I had a quick look and rental cars do seem fairly affordable in Cancun. If you are short on time that might be a good idea, but I do have to say that Cancun is super well connected by bus so I don't think it's really necessary. For example buses to Tulum run several times a day. If you'll be renting a car, I would make sure to check whether the rental price includes sufficient insurance. We are now in Cozumel and heading to Tulum in a few days. We'll likely post a video from there as well so stay tuned if you're curious 😉

@@platan0 also, for when you're in Cancun, just a few tips of local places where we had good food and would highly recommend: Los Tostadillas Del Mar (seafood tostadas and tacos - the tostada ceviche is incredible and they cost less than 1 eur each. We went there almost every day when we were in Cancun) and La Polilla (a streetfood stand with tacos only, some of the best we've had - there was a line of locals queueing for lunch which is always a great sign! Check opening hours in advance 😊). Have fun!!

@NaickKim5 жыл бұрын
That's awesome, so excited for yoy! I think May-August is really hot in most parts of Mexico and after that you have the hurricane season slowly setting in on the Carribean cost. Generally, December through April I think would be best. Everything will be considerably more expensive around Christmas and Easter though 😊

@@NaickKim We had an amazing and very reasonably-priced trip to Puerto Escondido, Mazunte and Zipolite. We made a couple of videos about it, which might help you plan your trip. Our favourite place by far was Zipolite. You should try it. Also the Biuzaa bungalows are amazing and really cheap!

Congo Club was fun but they definitely water down their drinks. Normally I regret any more than a few drinks, but I had about 12 there and wasn’t even wasted. I’m a lightweight drinker, that shouldn’t be anywhere near possible.

Downtown Cancun is the place where you can get mugged, stabbed or caught in the crossfire. Stay away, no matter how cheap it is P.S Kim's eyes.... They just get bigger and bigger. Joy to look at ;)
@NaickKim5 жыл бұрын
You can also get mugged in the hotel zone. Incidents have happened in both places but remain rare. Just keep your wits about you (like in any city in the world) and you'll be fine

How often do buses run to Chichen Itza? Also, can you walk to Cenote Ik from Chichen Itza?
@NaickKim4 жыл бұрын
The public bus is once a day at 8.45 am if I'm not mistaken and return should be at 4:30 pm. Not sure if you can walk from that cenote, I read online it is about 3km from Chichen. If you're heading to Valladolid or Merida, you can also take a very affordable tour from there.

We took the bus directly to Tulum. The ADO buses are first class with aircon and very comfortable seats. Price is about 10usd IIRC.

Not everyone has the same budget to travel. Or some people might want to save some money on some things like food and drinks to spend on activities or vice versa. Just take in mind some people really need to save up for a long time to be able to afford a break and for them not overspending on something might make a really big difference.
