I’m with you, cousin. Mental health check-in could really help some ppl before certain surgeries. A guy I use to talk to years ago wanted some type of surgery “for himself.” I said ppl get surgeries for acceptance deep down, not just for self. He got real mad! Didn’t want my opinion cuz he wanted that surgery. 🥷🏾cut me off quick! 😂

I know When they are considering you for gastric bypass through Medicaid they make you jump through a multitude of hoops and one of those is seeing a psychiatrist to make sure you were mentally prepared for what was about to happen to your body. My mom went with her friend as support to two appointments as she waited in the waiting room for her to finish her psych appointments so I don't know if they still do it but I know they did in 2006.
