Every time I hear "Buy our Toys" I think of Brony Notion's remix titled the same thing.

One day my cousin took me out to buy something when i was 9 because i helped him. So i wanted to buy some moshlings. But my cousin encouraged me to pick up the mlp blind bag so i agreed. I absolutely loved my first figure RD. So i began a WHOLE collection. But being the nerd I am I had to find out what mlp was and once i saw episodes i feel in love and it became my number one show. So really It was the merchandise that made me watch the show not the other way around

"Encouraging fans to support the project" That's exactly what the new season is viewed like to me, not longer a trick to sell toys, which I was a sucker for being from MLP First Generation. I'm actually sad that all my pony dolls were sold in garages...or lost in a house fire long time ago when I was a teen, otherwise I realize they could have become vintage items. Anyways love this review, nicely done, I like how you keep the reviews short, and being a new reviewer I'm trying to learn how to do that with my episode. Your an insperation thanks so much for your vids!

This might be one of the best videos you've done. I love it. I'm so sick of everyone, especially a certain blue unicorn with a hat, having meltdowns whenever Hasbro tries to sneak things to market to it's demographic. I'm also sick of being sandbagged into the "apologists for this type of behavior will land us right back in G3!!" Please... When I first discovered this show, Lauren had already left, and season 3 was about to start. I knew going in before even watching the first episode what people seemed to like about it. I knew what I would be watching, I had that perspective. It's just so sad when people put this show up on a pedestal as something "more than just a little girls show." Yes, it's not typical and you described why in your video. But it's such a gross disservice to think it's something else entirely. It's a disservice to everyone who's involved in the project, even Lauren. Especially Lauren. Everyone chose to watch a 22 minute toy commercial and get invested in it's story and characters. But it's still a toy commercial. I'm rather sick of this cult following Lauren has in the fandom. If they care so much about her, and hate being reminded of what they're actually watching, they shouldn't be here. They should move on. If Lauren's departure wasn't a signal, then I don't know what the one-two punch of Twilicorn and EQG could have been. So many people build this show up to unreasonable and frankly absurd levels that they end up living in their own little worlds where they somehow aren't watching a little girls cartoon that also appeals to all ages. When their illusion is shattered, we get sad pathetic meltdowns.

3:56 is that your basement? XD You make a very good point, and while I may not buy their toys actively, I will continue to support MLP:FiM for as long as it is a great show. A great shame Lauren Faust chose to leave the show though, while Meghan McCArthy & the current staff may be doing a great job running the show now. I really wished she had stayed & have her full vision blossom forth.

if you push the quality over a certain point, which part support which? If you see the show as commercials, why do we pay for watching it instead of paying by buying the toys? Apparently there are numerous of them, even in the outskirts of no-where, whiere I live. On the other hoof, this show does have something to it, including a few good lessons to stick my along the line, aside froma good show to enjoy. Or the basis of a nice fan community, who would say no to that?

I liked the g3 of mlp and I say that with pride. I don't care. Sure I am kind of expected to like it cause I am only a ten year old, but I don't think that it was all entirely about money. Gen 3 and gen 4 (they are the only generations i have seen don't judge me) have valuable lessons and they need money to keep the show going. And without merchandising that would be really hard to do. So it isn't all about money.

Yes, the actual Hasbro-made toys are cheap and barely look like the characters themselves. (Have you seen the Equestria Girls dolls? They look more like Monster High dolls than anything. Ech. They'd be a little more well-received by fans if they would have kept the anime-esque look of the characters from the movie. Why do I still collect them though? What is my life?) But the Funko Pop! and normal boxed figures look phenomenal. Well, the Hasbro-released toys are meant as...well...actual toys and the Funko figures are meant more as collectible items, and collectible items are meant to be viewed rather than played with, so they have more detailing. Still, Hasbro is the devil for not paying attention to its own trademarked characters.

Its really just product placement kind of like how Jackie Chan was sponsored by Mitsubishi in the 90's, so all his films had to have Mitsubishi products in them. I know there are probably better examples but I wasn't put off watching Jackie Chan films when I heard of that, nor will I be put off watching MLP as long as its well written. Although it would be nice if they sold MLP DVD's in my region. :(

NEVER should it feel or be 'Required.' Adding new packs one can *buy* in LoZ:Hyrule Warrirors or track-packs for MarioKart 8 are not in of themselves a bad thing or a rip off to the degree some companies do, expecting you to pay ANOTHER 20 to 40 bucks to have the _Rest_ of the game you just paid like $60 for! -_(\fk.u Capcum and EA . . . (lulz, Azura's Wrath anypony?) To allow DLC inclussions such that one can A) earn with MUCH hard work in game, ie use in game money & LOTS of it, Or just pay a small and Reasonable amount for based on content. (7$ for MK8 track packs or 14$ for both, how much you get? worth it) (20$ for a few digital skins on some character that addes nothing to the game? bullsh-) So yeah, "BUY OUR TOYS!!" ? oh, Wynaut. ^_^ *except that im a greedy hore that would rather help fund/support WoT & Nintendo. ^_-
