Hi..it is Masala Chai.. Chai as in Tea.....we call it Chai here in India...in India 90% of the people drink chai(tea)...there is variety in teas...Masala Chai is very popular. Masala in hindi language is callled for spices. So tea which has some kind of masala / spices in it, is called A Masala Chai🙂🙂👍

Candle Cocoon has many wonderful oils! I will tell you from experience, many of them smell so much better when in a candle vs. smelling them out of the bottle. Ice Crystals is my ultimate favorite and Serendipity is great too! P.S. You should try Chai Tea - delicious!!

Hi! My friend and I are starting and candle business ourselves and were looking into different scents. My question for you though is how does buying a scented oil from a company make you different from someone else who buys that same oil and makes some candles? I thought when making fragrances you are supposed to be different? I hope you don't take this personally it's more so a question for myself and my friend.

I've never heard of this FO brand before, I'll have to check them out! I'm interested in Surf's Up, but I own so many FO samples already (and I'm not even at the stage of selling any products yet lol) that I bought your candle (i.e. The Golden State) instead so I don't hoard more FO bottles. I'm curious, I'm only making candle tins, but I'm worried about the outside of the tin becoming too hot. I've heard that some candle makers will try to create a candle that doesn't go beyond 130° for tins and 140° for glass containers. I'm curious if you follow this? No matter what I do, the outside of my candle tins go past 130° after a few burns :(

Oh thank you so much!!! And this is a really confusing part of candle making because it’s not regulated so there’s not a clear cut temp to stay under, and everyone has a different option. I’ve heard to stay under 160, but some people say to stay under 175. This can be difficult, but the most important thing is that it doesn’t get hot enough to damage the surface it’s sitting on!

Hi, Jenna - it can mean that your wick is too large. Some wick families have big jumps from one size to the next. CD and CDN wicks are calibrated so that if you go up or down 1/4" in diameter (same wax and FO) you change the wick one size. So if you use a CD18 in a 3" diameter jar and you go to a 2.5" jar (down 1/2") you go down 2 wick sizes to a CD14. Also, some fragrances and waxes "like" the CDN series better than the CD (it's a chemistry thing!).

I’ve heard it’s the specific pollen in the food that we’re allergic too, and if you cook the food it will cook the pollen out of it

@@MemoryBoxCandleCo carrots is how I found out I had oral allergy syndrome because I was covered with hives after I ate some sticks as a snack and had to go to the hospital. It was horrible…and it actually got worse as I got older. Have had terrible seasonal allergies my whole life but the food issues didn’t happen til my 30s. It’s my excuse to have chips instead of veggies 😂. But like you said cooked is fine!

Hey Erica! I ordered both surfs up and sunflower and sea mist after watching your last video talking about them and they are both lovely. I heard in one of the candle groups that Candle Cocoon recommends lower FO percentages because their oils are more concentrated than other suppliers. 🤍

Yep, more concentrated - Lyschel (the owner) has never allowed any fillers or excess binder/solvent oils in her FOs. She tests repeatedly as she works with compounders to get a fragrance just the way she wants it, and able to be used at a low percentage. Most from ~3% to 5%, with one, Transcendence at 6.1%. If you use much more than that, you miss some of the subtleties she strives for, and risk drowning the top notes with too much base.
