Sad events? I think you're misinformed. Elton John co-wrote this song as a tribute to Marilyn Monroe in 1973. The melody was recycled with new lyrics re-written upon the death of Diana.

Beautifully performed one of my two special pieces, one of them is of course Candle in the Wind and the other is the piece by Michał Lorenc, "Departure from Poland." Two beautiful songs and ironically associated with the departure of wonderful people, Prince Dajana and the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński and his wife, and many other people. Beautiful Ulrika. Very pretty interpretative rendition of an Elton John master classic. Lyrically lovely too. It was written for and about the famous actress Marilyn Monroe, who fell prey to the unseen illuminate power elites ; and her way to early death staged, to look like a suicide. (Allegedly. Another one who just couldn't withstand all the attacks , on her mind, body and soul). "Goodbye Norma Jean, though I never knew you at all, you had the grace to hold yourself, while those around you falled." As Norma Jean was her real name and it was the Hollywood "they", who made her change her name. Kinda like all the KZbin social media content creators. Who is making them, change their names ? "They" are making them do the same. I know a few in southwest Victoria, who share the 1st June birthday date, as Norma Jean, including me. That was really pretty Ulrika. 😊🌮☕.
