Hi everyone!
So in today's video I wanted to start off my beginners series explaining how to go about picking the right jars to make candles with! Choosing the right jar will be essential when it comes to creating the type of aesthetic you're looking for. Some jars are extremely cheap (as low as $0.50, sometimes even lower) all the way up to $7+ a container. Amazon has some nice jars (such as these ones: amzn.to/39sIAVl) if you're just looking to get started with the candle making process (and some people even keep these jars as their main vessels!)
Have fun and do your research! And remember, no one can make choices for you, this is your business and you choose whatever jar is going to make you happy!

If you’re like me and don’t have any suppliers close by, I have seen some of the basic glass jars that most suppliers have at the Dollar Tree. For me even though you can buy them somewhere else for less than $1 each, it’s worth it to not pay shipping. I think even if you want to order in bulk, you can have it shipped to the store near you for free.

I look at it the jars are Microwavable or Dishwasher safe, if they are I have been using them for Candles... Am I thinking wrong? Think Glass with a heat tolerance for a Microwave should be candle safe 🤔

Hello, there are those who write that some additional substances should be put into it to make paraffin candles. (Like stearin) Is this necessary for the candle we will pour into the jar? What percentage of fragrance should we put in? Does soy wax or paraffin give more fragrance to the prepared candle?

Thanks for this. Your videos are so helpful. In addition, I was just wondering how many candle sizes for each scent should you have in stock. For instance, if you are starting with 6 candles per scent, how many of those candles should be 150g and how many should or 250g or 350g? Thank you.

You mean how many vessels from each oz.? I’m not an expert but I think that let’s say u are selling more of the 8oz. vessel and not really the 10 oz. what are u going to do? Make more of the one that’s selling more and less for the one that’s selling so so right?

So what your saying if i buy a jar that mark 9 oz and to the lid mark it hold 7 oz , then my label should say 7 oz? Are frosted jar good for candle making? You would put the empty jar on a scale, tare it, then pour liquid WAX into the jar and stop it where you want the fill line to be (if there isn’t already a fill line) and then read the scale and that’s the net weight. You can do this either in grams or oz!

thank you so much for the information. I am a little confused on when you said you have to sell the candle by weight. So does that mean you would wait until the candle is solid then weigh it to get an accurate oz of what to put on the jar??

The weight in liquid and solid form is the same :) so if you pour 6 oz in weight of liquid into the jar, it’s a 6 oz candle

Thank you for your videos. I love watching them. Anyways, do you get a frosty uneven layer after u burn your soy candles? I am using 100 percent soy and my candle has smooth top. However after my first burn, the top looks very uneven. I am curious if I can do anything to avoid or lessen that.

Pretty normal for soy wax...as long as they are somewhat perfect when I sell them, I'm good!

Personally with the soy#10 wax that I use, I don’t get any uneven bumpiness after burning. What kind of soy wax are you using? I know with 464, some people have had this issue! It seems to be the nature of soy with certain types of 100% soy wax

Yes that’s what I’ve heard! I think we are our own worst critics when it comes to candle making, we always want everything to be perfect even when it’s just a natural process of the wax itself!
