Oh My... Nate's smile quite literally enchanted me this whole time- I couldn't look anywhere else. I think he might be my soul mate! The poor man, how will I tell my husband? Any way, ill be running this adventure in a month. It was quite a value to me to get to watch you guys play it through! I look forward to more from this channel!

Adventure as written, counter spell is not one of the coven spells. The adventure has alternate coven spells that I think make the hags a little less powerful but they will definitely be difficult.

I'm running this story soon and I was very curious to see how it went. This was very enjoyable to watch! But I'm not surprised that the group got TPKed when I heard you say the hags have 9 blight spells total! From what I understand in the stat blocks, the coven spells in Shared Spellcasting are shared (so 3 blight spells total), and if one of them dies (Azirssa) the coven is broken and they can not cast any of those spells. They are left with only their Innate Spellcasting (dancing lights, minor illusion, vicious mockery). In other words, the Shared Spellcasting in their stat block (Hag of the Fetid Gaze) replaces the Shared Spellcasting specified for Hag Covens in the Monster Manual, rather than add.

It's funny you say that. Because before playing this session I double checked the MM. Prior to running this session, I ran a hag in my Icewind Dale campaign and knew that she didn't have access to coven spells from the MM. She was alone. On roll 20, which may be the issue, it didn't list them as coven spells. Or at least it wasn't obvious at the moment. It was simply in their stat block under spells so I figured the book had made the choice to give these spells to them innately. Sometimes the books modify the core ones ya know? But then afterwards, I kept thinking about it and in hind sight, I should have made it that way on the fly so the group had a fighting chance. And then I thought "Oh God maybe I did mess up" 😄. Then immediately, "Eh, no one will catch that!" So thank you for watching and keeping me on my toes! I'm glad the game was enjoyable.

@@TabletopBob Going to run this for my 3 level-5 players as a side quest in their main campaign. Given I do the coven spells correctly - should I be worried about this adventure? I don't want this side quest to TPK them

@@arodnap760 with 3 the Hag combat will be tough. Even with the coven spells done correctly. They still need to kill one hag before those spells go away. You could limit blight to only Morgana. Seems her style. Or don't use blight at all. Also could reduce the HP of the hags in general. If your players are smart they can isolate one hag and not worry about a big fight. Bc it was a one shot my players may have inadvertently metagamed that it was time for a finale. Good luck let me know how it goes!
