If you are going to have a butterfly garden in South Florida, the candlestick cassia, Cassia alata is a must have. This is a broad leafed plant with a beautiful yellow flower stalk that flushes out new leases almost all year which means that sulphur butterflies will be in your yard quite regularly. This is the host plant for orange barred giant sulphurs as well as coudless sulphur butterflies. Sleepy orange butterflies will use it as well.
In this video we get some seedlings going and it doesn't take long for the butterflies to show up.
