Thank you Candy for doing these four videos. I am a beginner Quilter and was feeling overwhelmed about joining up my squares on my first Queen sized quilt. You have explained the steps so simply and straightforward, I have learnt a lot and I am now looking forward to moving on and finishing my quilt. Once again thank you and please keep your videos coming.

Candy, Your QAYG 4 part series was very instructional and answer some of my questions about trying this method of rows vs. individual quilted blocks. Espeacially helpful was your including your lollipop quilt which you explained the sequence of pieces quilted,!!!! Thank you for your energy, patience, and clever hints that you incorporated in all of the 4 parts. Now I feel I may be successful in trying to quilt as you go my three piece quilt with some appliqués on it. 😊

Candy you are a life saver! Thank you. I love your unique technique. And I love your designs. You are brilliant. I too create all my own designs and am always developing new and easier ways to make quilts and art wall hangings. I appreciate the work you've done to produce these wonderful videos. You are clear and precise and so easy to to understand and follow. Well done!

Really terrific instructions! I'm waiting for the fusible batting to arrive and in the meantime I'll continue assembling my Christmas quilt (for me!) and I'll practice free motion quilting too. Thank you so much; it is possible that you have 'rocked' my quilting world!

Oh. My. Goodness. Thank you so much for taking the time to post these 4 tutorials. I previously did a quilt as you go quilt using sashing and it was my first time and quite disastrous. I have since made two other quilt tops, the first I quilted normally (which proved INCREDIBLY difficult in the small space I have to work in) and the second has been hanging in my closet because I've been so discouraged at how to quilt it. I'm excited to try this new technique this week!

Thank-you so much, you are a very clever lady, even if someone showed you how. I was glad to see how you got your squares pattern in part 3, it works so well with the modern look of this quilt. This makes such a lot of sense. All the best.

Wow! My mind is racing with possibilities using this method! Until I got to the end of Part 4 I assumed the only way I could do it was with the large blocks all being one size. But, when I saw your flower quilt I realized there are many patterns I can use as long as I use your method of attaching each piece as I go. THANKS!!!!

I've watched all 4 videos that you have and I've learned something new. I usually cut the backing and binding with the top once I've quilted the square or strip but I much prefer your method, leaving the batting and backing longer and butting the batting up to the previous piece and adding the backing with a seam that doesn't interfere with other seams. Thank you so much.

I watched this long ago when I was sewing on a 2x2 spot. I have seen many videos since, and made quilt tops. I only quilted one in small blocks and hand sewed them together. I have a new machine and a used executive desk these days and am ready to try your wonderful method! Thank you for your videos.

I have seen MANY QAYG tutorials, this is the best method I have seen. While the tutorial is long, it's very worth watching. Thanks so much for the 4 part series, you explained very well and now I have confidence to do a traditional bargello using the QAYG method shown here. I have my first column of the top finished and will piece the next column and put them together. the column FMQing method will work great. I have used the fusible batting for two vertical wall hangings in the past and it works great. Ignore the other negative comments, they are just 'addituding' as I tell my 4 year old granddaughter when she is in a mood. You did very well, thanks gain.

Loved your 4 part tutorial - Beautiful work; I wish only one thing - that you would re-record the part in the first part where the camera was off your hands in the crucial part where you were showing us how to join the 2nd column (before you inserted the fusible batting). that's the one part that was most important to see in order to "get" the technique you were showing. Loved the 2nd quilt at the end and your explanation of how you put that together and quilted it. Thanks so much!

Thanks for some good tips. In the example, it would seem that starting with the 2 middle columns would eliminate having to butt the backing the 3rd time. You would then only have to butt the backing twice instead of 3 times. Just a thought. Thanks again and happy quilting.

I am so grateful for this series! Thank you! This is the method I will use when I make a king sized quilt. So if I wanted to add borders I’m assuming I would use the same method. But if I want to add several borders, would I sew all border strips together then add them to one side, or sew each border strip separately? Just trying to figure out the best way to do that so my borders line up all around the quilt.
