Dunno what to say except that the riff here is so good. Perfect build-up and percussive effect intermingled. The occasional discordant strumming just adds to it. And the harmonics are added so gently and tastefully. Also, 3:02 is something really beautiful you open up with. Killer work!

Post-Hedges era would've been 15-20 years ago, and it was definitely pretty melodic (McKee, Don Ross, Antoine Dufour, etc.). I think he's talking about newer guitarists.
