Cane Corso protecting his owner

Just a good example of my Cane Corso guarding me. Typically I don't want my dog's cause a bunch of ruckus in the backyard, but unfortunately we have had some break ins in our neighborhood recently, so I actually want him to announce his presence.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this. Dogs are supposed to protect. Announcing their presence often wards off any other problems. For those that don't like it, get a cat and watch them defend you. Beautiful dogs serving their purpose.

There are so many wonderful dog breeds. I'm glad you have what u like. All I'm saying is let these dogs be dogs. A good bark to warn people is often all that is needed. It's not about which breed can attack better or inflict more injury. It's about letting the dog know he or she is a good dog for sounding the alarm.

i like mma holes can you please stop talking about things that you don't know about? You clearly don't know anything about the Cane Corso, or game bred pitbulls for that matter. It's common knowledge the pit bulls do not make good protection dogs, they were bred to have animal aggression not human aggression. Now if you're talking about one of those bandog mixes, then sure because those are Mastiff mixed with pit bulls. Which is basically mixing a protection Instinct with a terrier instinct, which actually creates a pretty wild combination that I personally am not fond of. I'm a breeder so if you want to test my dog's protection skills just give me a call, you're more than welcome to test his protection instinct. Just don't expect me to cover your medical bills. 😎

Dodger Blue no they're not great protection dogs. Not a real Pitbull. You're probably talking about a bully dog, or one of those American Bulldog mixes that people are registering as pit bulls. It's common knowledge that the original Pitbull was not human aggressive and in fact the few that did end up attacking people were well-known and were referred to as man biters. They were the exception not the rule.

It's strange, for some reason if you say to a Corso "who's that" or "who's there" in a low hush tone, it gets them going and they instinctively go into protection mode. I used to say it to my Corso all the time and he would instantly start growling and go investigate. Awww I miss my beloved Apollo :(

You can solve this problem like i did someone else that you never have in touch before needs to buy meat and carolina reaper or hott pepers then put smal pieces of pepper inside then the man who didnt never have intouch with places it somvhere like on the field then your dog will try to eat it and he will have burn in mouth he will never do this again so my dog eats only from my hand or food that i prepare for him

Almin Jahic that’s freaking badass especially when you know their bite force is 700 psi, the 3rd strongest dog bite😈 XL sized dogs too (24-28in tall on average shoulder level) and weigh 99-110lbs average with 32mph running speed but with workout, diet, and training one can easily weight 155lbs raw muscle and 30-33in tall should level with speed of 33-35mph. That speed is only 10mph less then greyhounds the fastest dog

Truly the best dog I ever owned. My best friend that would protect me with his life. In return he gets the very best diet, many toys, treats at drive through windows, outdoor activities and is my constant companion. He also guards my horses. This breed is everything a protection dog should be.

I adopted a female 4 months ago from a very abusive person. It took us about a month to gain a relationship. Now all she does is follows me around and protects me. When someone comes to the house I have to meet the person outside the front door and let her see that they're friendly just so she can let them in. After that then she wags her entire ass and she'll become a normal dog again. It's truly like having a body guard around you at all times. Other then her chewing all things plastic and slobbering I couldn't ask for a better guard dog.

Make sure you socialize her so she knows that other people are friendlies and not threats. This breed so so sweet and so trusting when it's done right.

This breed is absolutely incredible! Mine is a big baby to everyone until he feels someone threatens his family. He’s been raised around a chihuahua that snaps and lunges at him all the time and he never even pays it no mind. Great breed!

Preacher is so beautiful, as well as the other dogs. I think increasing the exercise, like walking long distances, will make them look more fit and stronger for the breed. Cane Corso is the most active of all mastiff breeds. When they exercise, you easily see how fast they build muscle and the side hanging skin on the back legs becomes tight to the body. They are the Ferraris of Mastiff breeds.
