The best character built from the ground up in Book II is Cane Tejada. PERIOD. They need to spin him off. Even if they started with him getting pinched but getting out somehow and taking that ownership he got by marriage and running New York. Then, Noma's family, dad, maybe Effie somewhere if not in school... the Cane Tejada story arc sets up perfectly for an entire spin-off. Hopefully they spare Cane, BUT it is "Power," so... 🤷🏾‍♂️

Cane is one of the biggest surprises of the series - he started out the series as almost cartoonishly evil (if Kanan is a TV version of 50 Cent and Tommy is a tv version of reggae artist Snow, then Cane is a tv version of Casanova pretty much). But in this season he took a very unexpected turn and kind of got redeemed. They made Tariq & Brayden basically the new Ghost & Tommy, so making Cane the new Kanan would've been too predictable. I personally would've thought it was cool if he was indeed the most ruthless villain in power history, but I can see why they didn't do that.

I have a theory. When I think about it, Tariq has been setting everyone up and getting his get back for them turning on him at the end of last season. They are all at war with each other. Outside of Effie and Braden. Effie has been helping Tariq this whole time. If you notice, this whole season Effie and Tariq didn’t talk much in the public as if they’re at odds. But, in private she helps him all the time. The way for Tariq to escape this is to let the Tejadas and Noma take each other out. He literally been setting this all up. The name of the last episode is “ghost in the machine” which means separating mind from body. It was Tariq that sent them on that dummy mission to the wedding. Davis been in his corner too! Think about it
