Will never forget this game. It was my wedding date! Kept sneaking over to the other room at the reception hall to catch the score. We didn't leave the hall till late, thankfully the owner was enjoying the game as well. I nearly missed giving my speech because of the score during the early part of the game. Wifey complained but I warned her, I'm a CANE, can't miss a rivalry game.

@@dirtyclapbomb6135 That's true. He would have been better off going to a small-ish school right out of HS to develop more before going to a big name school. He stayed in the shotgun for most of his HS career and it always shocked me that major colleges were after him like they were because he was just so limited. But he was pretty damn good in the shotgun and he was also a really good guy off the field.

This was a good game. Leak coming as a true freshman hurt Florida in this game. This game was the epidome of Ron Zook's career..blowing that lead. This would have been his biggest win as a head coach. Although beating Florida State in 2004, the night they dedicated the field to Bobby Bowden was sweet.

As someone who's not a Miami fan, this is some of the funniest stuff I've seen awhile. Berlin had 12 TDs and 17 int that year, and he often looked like an embarrassment out there. By the end of the WVU game that season, he was throwing bounce passes (despite having all day to throw) and was only bailed out by Winslow's amazing catch that stemmed from WVU being stupid enough to bring the house on the 4th and long that would've ended the game. Then the following year, he became a lot more efficient but still couldn't put together that great of a season for the Canes despite all that talent that was still there. Saying he was almost as good as the guy who only lost 2 games in over 3 years of starting for you guys (and should have only been one without that ridiculous pass interference call against Ohio State) is hilarious.

Devin Hester is still the greatest return man ever! I miss the orange bowl so damn much. Was at this game and can still remember the absolute electricity running through the OB.

Johnny Jackson the 2001 Hurricanes. 38 total draft picks, 17 first rounders alone. So good that future first rounders McGahee, Winslow, Sean Taylor, Rolle and Wilfork were second string.

This was Hester’s 1st big game at “The U” and it was memorable!!! S. Taylor was a freak of nature. I miss the days when 99% of the talent in South Florida stayed home.

Since my brother is 48 years old I doubt he has a shot at playing for Florida, LOL. I love Miami and have been a Cane fan for 30 years. As far as being a UCF fan...I'm not a very good one. I'm proud of my degree from UCF and I loved my college experience there but I don't go to many games. My wife is a UF alumni and we love to go to Gainesville and watch Gator games. **Sorry buddy but you having "Gator" in your name is letting everyone know the Gators are very good. Thank you.

Deep fried gator tail: 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon Everglades seasoning 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper (optional) 1 pound gator meat vegetable oil, for frying (I use peanut oil). Mix flour, seasoning, and pepper in a large bowl with hands. Rinse gator and drain water. Dip in flour mixture. Shake off excess flour. Heat 1/2-inch vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350 degrees F. Drop the floured gator in pan and fry for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

It's Miami, hoss. Folks aren't going to roll in to watch lower tier game. Not in a pro sports town full of transplants. Different beast in 305. When the prime time lights shine, people show up but this is a private school with 10K undergrads in a metropolitan town with countless ways to spend the entertainment dollar, other things to do. Only 31K in the house for Miami/Temple in '01 when Canes were #1. Nature of the beast. Golden bringing back hype, though. Watch how rowdy 9/7 with UF in town.
