He has stayed there too long and he needs to move up to lightheavyweight soon. And he is making his 1st lightheavyweight (catchweight tho) now. Remember what happened to Spence when stayed in welter for too long to make a fight with Crawford? He got drained and his condition was gone. Or remember Callum Smith when he fought Canelo. He was over due to leave supermiddle in that match. And he got much more comfortable in lightheavy as soon as he moved. Time is against Benavidez and Canelo knows it. Canelo means to either wait until Benavidez gets drained like Spence or ignores him until Benavidez fully moves up to lightheavy. And yes, Floyd vs Pacman fight took a long time but it had whole different factors like blood test. Also the way Canelo demands absurd amount of money, even higher than Floyd vs Pacman fight is absurd.
