The fans keep saying “Benavidez” but they’re not fans of the sport. Benavidez and his father have literally said they are done with Canelo and are focusing on 175 and then Cruiserweight with Zurdo. Benavidez Sr. just said he wants David to hit Heavyweight at the age of 30-31. The point is that Canelo didn’t fight opponents with the disparity of how Benavidez fought opponents at 168. David would easily be 195lbs on fight night at 168lbs, which was consistent when Zurdo and Smith were in the ring when campaigning at 168. Furthermore, it was Benavidez Sr. who started the whole Canelo drama, calling him a “puss-e” a year before David Benavidez started instigating with his father. This was during the time when Canelo had fought GGG the 3rd time. You can’t blame PBC for having tried to use Canelo’s name by having the Benavidez family exploit a drama. PBC was so desperate to save its business as Showtime boxing was leaving, to sign Canelo and salvage any remaining mega fight profits. After Jermell Charlo, Showtime boxing was leaving and couldn’t provide a guarantee for Canelo vs Benavidez. PBC tried various schemes with multi deals to entice Canelo, but the reality is that the fight was “the biggest fight in boxing” and Canelo wanted Showtime’s newest and best offer. As Rick Glaser said, there was no money (guarantee) or guarantor (Showtime). Canelo is not going to sign a deal with just PPV and no guarantee. That’s not how Floyd did it. Floyd got $200mil for PAC or Connor. Canelo wanted something at least above 50mil GUARANTEED. There was no guarantor, Showtime ended, and there’s no way Amazon Prime would even commit to such a price because they don’t have any boxing broadcast experience. Ronald Ellis, Tyrone Davis, Plant, Andrade, those guys were all 180lbs at best whereas David hits 195lbs at 168. Now at 175, cuts less water, and he just said he wants Zurdo which is 190lbs. The less water to cut the better performance. Maybe after Turki gives Canelo that 150mil for Crawford, he will then get $200mil for Benavidez. Benavidez will do a Chad Dawson like the Andre Ward fight. Money talks! 💪 💰

Classy, professional, disciplined, lineal champion, unified champion, undisputed champion, 4 division champion, has faced more undefeated in their prime fighters then anyone else in the game. A couple of wins away from breaking Mayweather record for defeating the most world champions in boxing history. The amount of disrespect for a champion, who not only has all the accomplishments, but consistently carries the sport, in an honorable way, is unbelievable.
