Ohhhh you are in for the most enjoyable, miserable, exciting, frustrating, can't believe that happened experience with a combiner. Not to discourage you at all as this will be my third. They are just some big bots and the transformation is involved.

There's already a review up on KZbin for the transforming Hotwheels Op. The way they do it is that they hide whichever blisted insert you're not using on the right side of the box, behind the instructions, while the card back behind the blister, is reversible.

Also Studio 86 Bumblebee is a 23 step transformation, so I expect something quite intricate for its size. As for what you were saying James about size classes, we both know that the fandom will just decide in their minds that the new class names are just the "new deluxe/voyager/leader/etc" in their minds and we'll be right back to where we were. In fact, I'd say that the only size class which hasn't had a name change over the years is Deluxe, however that's a name reversion from when deluxes were briefly called "Supercons", during Armada.

I completely agree with you. I think Bumblebee should be in another size class, like the old scout toys. Those were amazing figures and you got what you paid for, in my opinion. Again, this is just my opinion, but I seriously think Hasbro is using figures like Bumblebee to show their investors that people will buy smaller and smaller figs at the same price point. ~The Con

@@botvscon No I'm saying that given the level of complexity involved, I'm fine with him being a deluxe. To me, while I hate how unlike a VW Bug he looks, I see the engineering on this figure, and therefore the parts count, competely justifying him being a deluxe-class figure.

Great show! I am really excited for the Wu Cliffjumper/Shockwave two-pack! I also hope that they scale appropriately. I am in on SS86 Bumblebee. That Newage Bayverse Megatron looks amazing, but he doesn’t belong in my collection. I’ve got two of the SS86 Swoops on pre-order. Overall, I like the transformation scheme, and I really like the wings. However, I am disappointed that it has forearm transformation gaps. That seems really lazy for a leader class figure. I skipped out on Grimlock that reason. I have my two MP Grimlocks displayed alongside the rest of the upgraded SS86 Dinobots.

I'm actually upset that the Megatron looks so good because now I'm just being stubborn and not picking it up because I don't like the movie verse. Wish they would just partner with DNA and make an upgraded version of the Hasbro figures.

Protoman has a really good channel called the Transformers Slag Podcast. I usually get all my lore info about new figures that's coming out or about the Transformers brand in general from his news videos. From what I've seen he's well knowleged in everything Transformers. If the light goes out on either of you, I think new bulbs would also be advisable. But all nonsense aside: Or maybe not, because by not mentioning the hook hand, you let Thundertron off the hook pretty easily. On the subject of Antagony, I think it's redundant to make an upgrade kit that robs the figure of transformation. Especially for the price.

The hook hand could have been done better. If the upgrade set was for ANY other figure than Antagony I wouldn't have gotten it. But I remember being a young lad looking at the Botcon figures on TFwiki and wanted them so bad. I'm doing it for the kid that wanted that figure! ~The Con

MANnnn I know on this channel I will always be known as the Doctor Wu collector but I only started because of Bobby's 4 ft metroplex but it seems like everybody's coming out with cliffjumper this year and I really like cliffjumper LOL

You are definitely Dr. Wu to me. It seems like that's what happens. A bunch of companies come out with the same figures around the same time. It felt like Omega Supremes last year, Stunticons the previous year, and Devastator and Cliffjumper this year. Happy collecting it there

Magmatron is an awesome figure, but it needs an upgrade kit, mainly for the sword because that floppy thing is terrible. Then some filler pieces and a better mount for the shield on the forearm. Do agree with James a bit on the purple Preda. On that image the purple needs a bit more breakup. Some black or darker shade of purple would have helped in combine mode. Still going to get it though.

I like how the Quintessons are being built up in Void Rivals. I hope the payoff is good once they get to the sacred ring. Autobox X is the kind of figure I wish Super7 would have put in their Ultimates line. He didn't transform so he would have been perfect for it. But they had to keep making non-transforming versions of transformers and that's why the line hasn't done well. Would have been nice to have gotten him, Death's Head and a couple others. I'm thinking Optimus is going to keep Megatron's cannon until Megatron rips it off him when they eventually fight.

I like the Rising Force Motormaster but I think the sword looks stubby. If the MS Menasor sword fits his hands I will use that one instead. The Cangtoys Predaking repaint shines much better in the individual alt modes IMO over the combined. I really think the set could have benefitted with 1 other accent color like a royal blue or aqua or metallic rose even.

Easy, all figures are going to voyager scale. Hasbro learned they can produce any figure at any size and it will be bought up by the masses, it's all about profit and pleasing the shareholders. If I remember correctly, Grimlock came out under another team. I truly believe if Grimlock was released today, it would be a leader class figure as big as Springer or Tarn. ~The Con

RIP to Don Perlin, Moon Knight (especially in the 90's comics) was great. Marvel's version of Batman for all essential purposes. I agree with Bobby, I don't really get the Autobot X thing. It was one of my least favorite episodes as well and especially don't get xtb's being over $100 for a non-transforming figure. With Studio series 86, Bobby is in for a penny in for pound. Sometimes it's OK to cut your loses..... Hopefully Black Mamba fixes the transformation for that DB-01 (Dinobot). Watched a transformation video of it a few weeks ago and it looked like trash. I think the Transart version will be much better. The purple looks great on the Cang toys but James is right. It's too much and looks like Predaking is wearing a onesie......lol Good stuff guys 👏👏👏

Maybe the X-ssories are why Autobot X is so expensive. So curious about this one but not about picking it up. The good thing about the 86 line is that there are only so many more figures they can release that haven't already been announced. Soundwave, Blitzwing, coneheads, Astrotrain, bugs, some dead autobots. All could use better mold than what we've received lately or they have come out recently so a 86 version will be off a ways. 🤷🏾 just my thoughts. James should get both dinobots and do a review. Cang is so beautiful. The struggle is going to be real. Now if they release a plague version in the red.....🤫 "Bobby shut up" my wallet just spoke.

The purple predaking with the three two feet is the full size version not 3 inches tall it’s at 23 inches tall

Good episode nice job gentlemen. By the way I just received the new Hotspot from MMC and I must admit I’m disappointed. The foot was fatigued and thinly cracked out of the box and I’m really on the fence as to whether to return the piece and abandoned ship on the set. The feet don’t make a lot of sense for the weight this piece holds. Also there isn’t any die cast at all in the entire piece particularly none in critical areas such as this. What’s happened with MMC? Are they the new X-transbots? Yikes 🤷‍♂️

@@botvsconUgh that was tough getting it defective but on further review I feel better about it. I think the only thing about this set is the Hotspot isn’t as good as he can be but alt mode is excellent and combiner mode is astonishing. So in this case I’ll just use those 2 modes and then enjoy the other bots individually from time to time and maybe pick up Generation Toys Hotspot to supplement. Anyway thanks 👍💯

@@botvsconIn my opinion which is for me objective is the feet are too thin for the heft of this combiner so that’s #1 so it’s a bit of both. They should have diecast for the feet and the joint which holds the feet as it’s a thinner piece again relative to heft of this piece. It came out of the box with that part fatigued and a small hairline fracture. That’s all I can convey at this time

Hasbro has been real bad with their pricing value. SS bumblebee should be a core but he's a main character so they know you'll pay deluxe for bb. SS sludge, snarl didn't come with the mini fig and were still leader class price. Now swoop the smallest is also leader price but we'll pay it cause we have to finish the set. Swoop should've come with a flight stand.

Flight stand at least. Great points. Like I said, take out the class because they no longer fit the size or even more, the value we come to expect. Just say here it is now shit up consumers and buy our products because that's what it sure feels like.

Ive never seen the Earthspark TV show - not really interested to, but the problem with it and where I believe the 'distribution' issue is the fact that it streams on obscure platforms that noone really subscribes to - if they would offer this stuff up to the larger platforms - like they did with the WFC Trilogy on Netflix, then I'm certain they would probably have a successful product on their hand. Hasbro will no doubt make the same mistake with whatever series replaces earthspark as well.

I know it is scaled for a third party Blaster but would you happen to have a hasbro Blaster you could size check it with? no naw I can care less honestly I just like it because it’s not that crappy g1 blocky cube with arms and legs and head piece of crap kind of predaking or parts forming crap I’m just saying people /you guys give any company a bad rap they should know there is never ever going to be a screen accurate figure that can transform or hide the pieces of the figure like prime studios or three zero can do only if they could transform like that. I’m all in on getting cang toys predaking he is the biggest predaking we’ve ever gotten and also want to get all the other transformers out there to the 3rd companies and official companies to everything I’ve gotten of the figures I’ve had growing up was perfect to me in my eyes yea I know it’s not g1 but it’s literally impossible to a perfect predaking or any transformers figure to exactly and rendered verison of how it was in the cartoon or live action movies that’s my own personal opinion and because I also need and want this so badly to but you all got to admit it there’s never ever going to be a perfect rendering/ transformerable hiding everything to just have it like how it was growing up seeing it on tv and in theaters transformers figure but to me every transformers figure I’ve always gotten was perfect to me anything I saw and liked no matter how it looked was still perfect to me I’m still all in on cang toys thunderking/predaking and not those other crappy g1 predaking versions from 3rd party companies before in the past and official and zeta one to all crap except for cang toys thunderking/predaking to me because it looks like real life animals and not those g1 predaking that are just blocks with legs and arms and just a head piece from all of them before that’s why I love cang toys thunderking/predaking because it looks real life and not that stuff guys woo .
