When Tim Burton saw the original '9' short, he said it felt like it had a sense of weight, which is lacking in a lot of CGI animation. Despite it being CGI, it felt very much like stop motion to him. I can't help but imagine he saw THIS movie once upon a time, and that contributed to his feelings about '9'.

Thank you for this! I remember watching this in my university days and was completely enamoured by the quality of the animation and brilliance of the story! You should share a little video talking about your experience making it and some of the elements of the story! Well done!

An amazing short film that really stuck with me. The atmosphere that is conveyed through the makeshift desert scenery is fantastic.
