Just got mine. Yeah the spring is tight, leaving the gun open overnight helped a bit I feel. The ramp is also further polished at the bottom of it (than previous iterations in order to avoid some HP issues). I have tried to replicate the out of battery issue by racking the slide at different speeds, etc. and can’t replicate it. The mags do stick to the grip unless you loosen your grip, which is not a natural thing to do. But that’s not a deal breaker for me, as this isn’t a competition gun. As far as the holster goes. The polymer quality of it is good. I don’t like that it doesn’t have a sweat guard. But it works well though I am using a hand made leather holster for it currently (comfort). If I get an optic, I might have to resort to the factory holster until I order a custom made one. Other than that, the gun is as well built as my polymer Sigs and my Glocks.

@@BrunswickFirearmsReviews Thanks. Small update: ran a few mags of Federal 124 gr HST of both regular and plus P variety. The gun cycles them flawlessly (this was my biggest concern given the early models having issues), as I stated the ramp no longer has that bulky edge at the bottom, and it seems to be polished out from factory. I have no complaints so far. The gun is hefty for its thin diameter, it is closer to a Glock 19 in weight than it is to a Glock 43x. But I feel that it helps immensely with recoil mitigation. This is a much softer shooting gun than the P365.

Glad you mentioned that slide tension. Few people do. I picked up mine on Saturday at the gun show. My thoughts the first time I pulled that slide back were, *_"DAMN!"_* It's my believe that Canik switched to a stiffer recoil spring to address the "return to battery" issue many people were having. It's pretty amazing the amount of accessories that comes in the case. All handy stuff, but the holster is not too impressive. I doubt many people use it. I won't be. The holster's a nice touch but I'd rather they left it out and either dropped the price $10-$20 or better yet added a third magazine. You, I and everyone else agrees that the grip stippling should have gone higher, but maybe a bit of grip tape could resolve that. Apparently, a white dot front sight with blackout rear sights is currently vogue, but I don't care for it so I ordered some Night Fision sights. ($108 on the Night Fision site, but I found coupon code BDAY20 to get 20% off. UPS shipping only $5. Didn't charge sales tax. ??? Total cost only $91.40.) I like how easy the gun is to disassemble/reassemble. A tad easier than a Glock and much easier than a 1911. I don't plan on adding an optic or a light, but I like having the option. I really like the trigger. Initial pull is a little long, but not much mush and the reset is phenomenal. I like 4.5 pounds and think I might get uncomfortable with a pull that was much lower. You echoed another one of my thoughts regarding the trigger guard. I would like it if it were just slightly bigger. (Like the stiff slide, no one seems to ever mention the trigger guard.) I like the striations in front of the trigger guard though. It gives good purchase for the finger of your support hand. I don't think you mentioned the "one in the chamber" indicator on top of the slide - or maybe I missed it. The only thing I don't care for on the gun, (not counting the sights that I'm replacing), is the mag well. I feel the walls are kind of thin. Too much pressure holding the grip and the mag doesn't drop out when you press the release. I just consider that a learning curve though. Loosen your grip a bit when dropping a mag. Maybe thin walls were necessary to keep the width of the gun down and still have a double stack mag and be able to use any other Canik mag. I've been researching and craving this gun for a couple of months, but have been unable to find it locally and didn't want to jack up the cost with shipping and FFL fees. The gun show showed up at just the right time. I think this is one of the best, if not the best, unboxing reviews of the mc9 I've seen. Great job!

I agree. You are spot on with the Canik Mete MC9 pistol. Thank you for watching! I appreciate you.
