So, the inmates bond with and love them, but the dogs "graduate" and leave? That must be devestating to the prisoner. Don't really see how that helps them.

Just do some better research on the subject and try to grasp the idea. This kind of programs are just HUGE and benefit to everyone. There are plenty vid on this.
