I’ve got a Bernedoodle and her energy is a lot like his. Super social creatures but also love to please. 👌🏽

I have a 4y.o shih tzu who is trained in the basics but i failed to socialize her with other dogs and she avoids other dogs as much as possible. Cats she will show some intrest and curiosity. But i would love herto be socialized with other dogs and dont have much content on this on YT. Can you help with something like this or give advice

Excellent video, thanks for sharing. Can I ask you, in a similar situation but with a very excited Labrador (just over 1yo), would you back off and leave if the dog is trying to lunge (non-aggressive, but to meet or play) at another dog? Or would you try to correct / redirect him and try again going in?

I would love to see an answer to this as well. I have 2 that will get up on hind legs pulling to interact. I'm unsure about the situation so we correct instead of move forward.

Definitely back up and work on engagement farther from the distractions! Youre setting the dog up to fail if you're that close and they are that over excited.

I think nothing - it's weekend. But thanks for asking. Ciao

Thats way too overwhelming for a never trained dog

Would you also say this dog is too overwhelmed by the experience? This dog is not in distress, uncontrollable, or showing any signs of defensive or aggressive behavior. Let’s assume the dog trainer knows what he is doing.
