I have a hydro setup. In 2022 I had a diverticulitis. I was in the hospital for a week in February 22, another week in July 22 and the surgery in April 2023 that fixed everything. My Mom who is 92 years old kept my garden in top condition. Thanks Mom she and my Aunt also spent 6 hours in the hospital waiting during my surgery. Cheers to family

Biggest game changers for me were: 1. Self watering system (Earth box and AC Infinity XL Base) 2. DEHUMIDIFIER**** (This one was huge. I have old school steam heaters and man do they keep things around 70% humidity.) 3. Calcium!!! (I was having acidity issues and the same deficiency that would come up 3 weeks into bloom and destroy my yields. Turns out i didn't have enough calcium.) Ever since correcting these 3 variables, my grows have been 🔥

I don’t know if somebody else asked for that calendar with the deficiencies each month but I know I sure did. I brought it up a couple times because I cannot find a poster like they have at the grocery store of all the deficiencies and the leaves. I think it would be great art to have up for obvious reasons. You can just sit and look at it while you’re getting high.

I seldom have fungus gnats I keep excess moisture to minimum both on the surface of the media and not letting trays water sit in trays. I also keep small fans running low at pot height to keep air moving above the media. Gnats can’t proliferate if they can’t fly from the fan wind.

The word Scotty is looking for at 10:25 is Relay. A relay is an electro-mechanical device used to switch high voltage/high amperage devices safely, typically using a electromagnet and steel core to operate what is effectively a heavy duty switch. Why on Earth the industry hasn't provided a decent selection of plug in economy remote controlled 110/220V relays is baffling.

I left my plants for a month (give or take) at the beginning of the summer this year. I just kept the watering schedule in my head the best I could. I got my dad to check in and water the girls ever couple/few days. Made sure to top dress before I left so nobody went hungry. I was a bit worried tbh. But it turned out just fine! The little bit of general gardening experience he has, and the few tips I gave him did the trick. (For context and the curious, I work in music production. Was touring playing bass, and setting up the gear on stage)

Hey dudes when you go bush or into the forest grab a bucket of that dark brown Soil and some of the leaf matter, you can have microbes forever and it's especially good because it's from your local area, put it a handful in a bucket of good water and air rate the water, a cup of that microbe water in with the general watering schedule, guaranteed healthy Grow medium.

Shipping palates will have a code on them. it let you know if they've been treated. Kilm dried, or if treated what chemicals are on, it should be burned/ painted onto the wood somewhere,it also lets tou know country of origin If you google shipping pallet codes youll get a whole list

I really like those smart outlet things. I was slow to get onto that technology. But now I find it super convenient. I use it mostly for emergency auxiliary types of equipment that is usually not too big of a deal in amps. But if I need to change something minimally, I can simply turn something on and off usually

I pay the person to water. And I also pay train them. For the first time I have someone I feel like in reasonably count on for the most part. But I had to have him over a couple times to train. And I paid him For the time. Even making him watch a small KZbin video about the way. Water works in soil. No one is perfect but I haven’t had any problems yet. And it’s been the only thing to release me to go to the DGC events.

an oscillating 4 inch fan or two depending on the size of your grow space/tent will eliminate gnats 100%. gnats or bugs in general don't like air movement, by placing the fans to move air across the surface of your media the fans will keep the top layer of your media dry and prevents from giving gnats a place to lay their eggs. Never need to spray, dunk, drench or fly traps, ever. And if you have house plants you can cover the top of the soil with an inch thick layer of tiny pea pebbles to prevent gnats as well. 👍🙋‍♂️

I write all the due or die parameters on the door itself. The things that never change like temperature and where electrical breakers and stuff are. Water temps. I leave a sign on each event with the numbers of how many fans he needs to make sure are moving each time. An actual number and he counts as he walks about the area. I also spray paint in orange on the walls where intake fans and electrical. Heaters and hazards could be located

Growing outside in town with no clue whos watching . Id say paranoia makes picking them early always a challenge. Their so perfect yet not done cooking yet . Do i leave them to cook the rest or pick cause the neighbors looking at um an the worry of mold or problemz like that. I always fold an pick too soon I look at the pros , i get all the bud even if its little smaller buds cause i know the neighbors not taking um if i pick now an their so perfect an clean waiting a bit could mean more a lot more bud but will it be clean an the denser they get the more i worrry about mold an the colder season coming in fast Way she goes

Scotty thank you so damn much for what you said about the calcium-magnesium-potassium. Im having absolute hell in mid/early bloom with a monster of a K deficiency. Makes sense. pH is good, EC is good, its gotta be a balance issue. Im gonna 33:56 grab the shop vac and run about 30 gallons R/O water through my 10gal pot and mix a fresh batch of nutes to hopefully get back on track. Never in my life had a nute problem. Went from COCO to soil one time and now im having problem. dammit!

Bro science..?! I used to have trouble with Fungus Gnats, pretty often. No plant problems noticed, but Gnats always flying around the soil. I started using a Soy Hydrolysis, Amino Acid powder, usually with an NPK of 0-0-14. I was supplementing 1tsp/gallon with each feeding/watering. Within a few weeks, maybe, I didn't notice any Gnats around the soil, and haven't seen any since 5-6 years ago. I have continued to use this product 80% of the time. Recharge has these same Amino Acids, which is great. They're extremely useful for many reasons, from Chelating nutrients, to creating better buds. Maybe even get rid of Fungus Gnats, if used each day, but I still see my experience as "Bro Science"..?! One other person mentioned this "getting rid of Gnats" in the reviews. Maybe we'll get some real science on this someday..?!🤔👍💯🙏✌️

Filling the machine with distilled water and putting a ziplock bag filled with your piece and iso alcohol inside is a LITTLE bit safer....but, it would still be best not to use it at all.
