I have a cannatrol. First, it's fantastic because it takes the environmental guesswork out of the most important part of the growing process. Second, the water during the first few days of the dry cycle that comes out of the back smells wild. Lastly, while the flower is smokable and has the perfect moisture content after 8 days, I wouldn't call it a full cure by any stretch. 30 days or more is still required for enzymes to do their job.

This guy is the real deal. As a chemical engineer, I'm an expert in physical chemistry. Humidity is a function of temperature and vapour pressure of water vapour. The vapour pressure can stay the same but the temperature changes, then the humidity changes even tho there's the same amount of water in the air. That's why it's often called relative humidity because it's relative to temperature. 100% RH at 0 °C feels very different from 100% RH @ 30°C. The hotter it is, the more water vapour the air can "hold". That's why a hot, humid day feels so wet and sticky, and why winters feel much drier. Cold air can't hold as much water. At 100% RH the air can't hold any more water vapour and water will condense on cold surfaces. Dew point is a much better unit of measurement for the vapour pressure. But then it gets confusing for some people because then both ur measurements are in °C.

I love my Cannatrol! I've had it for over a year now, and it sits in my living room next to my couch! I wish it had a larger capacity for putting bud into, but for what it is, (lol up to 2 lbs! of wet) it does a better job creating quality smoke than I ever could on my own. I can only fit my main colas from my outside plants, but with my 4x2 I can fit three plants in this thing. Before my drying environment had to be my tent, but my bud would still dry out too fast because Im not able to control the heat/environment in my apartment.. too hot, dries too fast, tastes like harsh cough. Now my buds dry and cure under 65 F and in a super controlled condition. It truly took the worry away from finishing my smoke. Now when I harvest, I just cut the stalk and stick it in the Cannatrol and hit "start". I dont have to worry about buying new humidity monitors for jars, or burping jars, plus I can set my own schedule for longer cure times. It now comes out smooth af and smelling amazing.

I've had one for three months now and done 3 dry/cure phases. It's been awesome. The buds come out perfect and I do store them in Grove Bags but not in the Cannatrol. It's taken a the anxiety out of this essential part of the process. Love this thing and I'll probably buy another one as I'm growing too much weed of late, lol. The buds do not smell until you break them open which was a little weird at first but now I'e gotten used to it. It's not cheap but hey neither were the lights, tents, seeds and all the time put into growing.

There are very few innovations that change the way you do things. My old town autopilot 120 changed the way I fish. The Metabo cordless duplex nail gun for work and the Cannatrol dry/cure machine. All Game changers. Perfect results every time. I found it best to hang extremely wet plants for a day first. You should wet trim as much as possible and remove large stems. The flowers tend to get flat on one side if that bothers you. The factory setting is 4 days dry and four days cure. I find it best to dry slower and longer. There is a slope function that you should take advantage of. You can extend the cure time as well. How long I dry and cure depends on the flower structure. 14 days total. Smokes like it's been in jars and burped for weeks except much better. Nobody believes me when I tell them I've been growing for 8 or nine months. "You bought this, there is no way you grew it.", is what I hear. Most quality things may be expensive but always worth it. Your biggest investments should be your lights, your temperature and humidity controls and now your dry/cure machine. One less thing to worry about for a new grower.

I added two small tension rods to the top of the unit with small clip on hooks that fit around the rods which allows for me to ignore the shelves and hang my plants inside the unit. Just ordered mine using your link . They offer a $100 military discount which will cover my shipping. I have had problems with it being too dry here- making it difficult for a nice slow dry. The potency is there but the inconsistency ends up costing me in the long run with product lacking in the taste and smell department. I'm hoping the Cannatrol will take my grow to the next level.

This is why I use a vornado (evaporative humidifier) in my drying tent. I set it to 60% humidity and just wait for the crack of the branch. I also hang the plant whole to extend the drying time as much as possible. My last dry took 20 days. I cured in Grove Bags along with a Boveda. The smoke was just amazing. @@businessmonkey4726 gotcha. Yeah I def think you are going to lose some terps from over drying. And how bad really depends on the climate. Like if you overdry at 60rh/60degrees. I had 2 other runs that were not good and the results were not good in the machine.

i’ve been using this for a few years now. It works great and makes drying and curing a breeze. Only 2 things to be aware of are it don’t hold very much so for outdoors it’s a no. Second is it lock the smell inside the buds itself and you don’t get the smell until your grind the bud. If your selling and people do the sniff test only from the bag it’s not a good fit. I love mine for personal use and is for sure worth the money for the time savings and peace of mind you get and it’s consistency. 100% Worth it and with that being said whoever makes one for half the price is a winner.

You told him you were currently using a wine chiller/cooler/fridge and he immediately latched on to the word "fridge". Now I would assume you meant a non compressor style, or solid state/thermoelectric wine cooler, which is exactly what the cannatrol is. I guess it's nice that he's an honest guy and uses misdirection rather than resorting to lies, but you own both Chris, shouldn't be too hard to spot any major differences. That shpiel about humidity is great, "you can't control for 2 variables, so we control the temperature and the amount of moisture in the space seperately! With a controller that adjusts one based on the other" Thinkling about the device made me realize the amount of water we are dealing with is really small.A quart of water weighs just over 2 lbs, but not quite 2.2lbs One fella I chatted with used a wine "fridge" and added a thermoelectric dehumidifier and Inkbird controller in his design, but the fact that the Cannatrol only pulls 70 watts at the wall tells me that their design doesn't even go that far, you can't run two thermoelectric units plus fan and display for 70 watts.
