Oscar-nominated director Rithy Panh's new film, ‘Meeting with Pol Pot’ was presented at the Cannes Film Festival last Thursday, as part of the Cannes Premiere section.
Loosely inspired by the book ‘When the War Was Over: Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge Revolution’, written by the then Washington Post correspondent Elizabeth Becker, the film recounts the adventurous journey of three French journalists (interpreted by Irène Jacob, Grégoire Colin and Cyril Gueï) who are invited to Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge in 1978 to meet with Pol Pot.
