Go listen to the commentary track. All their film teachers were very against this. Except Stan, who told them, and I'm paraphrasing, "Good for you. Go. Make your movie. Do it now." I have absolutely no evidence for this, but I really want to believe the South Park character Stan was named after him.

@@jenniferm4985 I have seen both commentaries for this film on the dvd i burrowed, including the inebriated director’s commentary (which I assume is the one you’re referring to as only a passing mention to him near that scene is made in the Colorado commentary) though I don’t remember them saying anything about his perspectives… but that does certainly sound like Stan.

And then, after all that, she still agreed to appear in Orgazmo, as two different women walking down the street. (If you've seen it, and if you haven't you absolutely should, it's AWESOME, she plays one of the two "hot girls" AND the old lady walking down the street.) Oh, and that other dude? Whoa, had no idea this was based on a true story. "Alfred Griner Packer[a] (January 21, 1842 - April 23, 1907), also known as the 'Colorado Cannibal' was an American prospector and self-proclaimed wilderness guide who confessed to cannibalism during the winter of 1874. Though no clear or definitive evidence has been found to this day, and despite in-depth research about proof of his deeds,[1] he is one of the four persons historically convicted for cannibalism in the United States. After emerging as the sole survivor of a six-man party who had attempted to travel through the San Juan Mountains of the Colorado Territory, he eventually confessed to having lived off the flesh of his companions, giving more than one version of his account as to the circumstances"
