My key pad bit the dust could not open it. Locksmith estimated $200 or so. I got a $12 Milwaukee drill bit had to drill a few holes to find the solenoid. But once I found where to drill had my safe open in less than 30 seconds only 12 gauge steel.
@mrelectron62208 жыл бұрын
Well I agree the interior looks nice and nice idea for the usb and ethernet port, but man that door scares me. No backing on the fire barrier like another layer of steel to protect the locking system from drilling. Also the mechanism for the bolt locks looks flimsy. I was thinking about one I saw at TSC but I think I'll keep looking.

Reading most these comments people think they can keep a thief out of a safe? The only way to NOT be able to drill through a safe is to make the safe body harder than a drill bit. That's expensive and very heavy. A twelve gun safe would probably weigh 1200 pounds. Most floors couldn't support this weight in such a small footprint. Enter an acetylene torch and all bets are off.
@rpmtechtv8 жыл бұрын
yeah actually they came out and replaced it for me. Whole new safe. I haven't been checking my youtube account for comments so I apologize for taking so long to reply to this thread.

Cannon support is awesome, They replaced my safe just because the paint had some issues in a few placed. I would TOTALLY buy another!

Does the fact that it was damaged, and you were able to bend it back, not demonstrate that it’s a pretty weak safe?
@rpmtechtv3 жыл бұрын
absolute piece of junk. might work well for storing some old tax returns in. I had to use a plasma cutter, took 45 seconds to cut the side off to get it open. its made from tin. lol. this is old video
@RayBlack3212 жыл бұрын
@@rpmtechtv a plasma cutter or oxy acetylene will burn thru 99%. It’s not a bad gun safe but it’s not the Rolex of them either. It’s just a run of the mill safe.

You're very lucky they're shipped from overseas on their back and usually that fire board is broken and sometimes even is fixed we throw bolts with opening sometimes weeks and months later when the user slams the door.

Some of the Cannon safes can be retrofitted with a mechanical dial lock without major surgery. This is one of those safes. There is always the trade-off of the reliability of a decent mechanical lock and the quickness of a electronic lock. There are also key operated locks that can be had, but now you have to hide the key. Also are the redundant either / or electronic/dial comb locks which give you back up if the elock fails. Under stress some would have difficulty dialing a comb but if you are using it often this is not likely. So when you buy a cheaper gun safe you may want to find out if a standard dial lock can be retrofitted.
@SC-dw3jz3 жыл бұрын
They all come with backup keys u insert behind the dial face amazing how many retards have destroyed their safe bc they either forgot or who knows but any locksmith could open it up with a set of skeleton keys.

While you’re waiting 7 to 10 business days for your replacement keypad and lock and looking up locksmiths, try disconnecting the 9V battery and reconnect, push the clear button and then enter the code. No guarantee but after several days of fooling around it now works every time! But I’ve taken it off and it’s going on the shop door where there’s another door when it fails the next time lol!

I've been looking at the cannon 80 gun safe at tractor supply mainly because of the price and storage space, I've been looking at the liberty fatboy jr. 48 for a year or two, my gut tells me to go with liberty,but that big ass cannon 80 sure leaves me lots of room for additions to my expanding collection for only $1000 vs $1499 for the 48 gun liberty!

I had already bought a cannon safe at Tractor supply and hadn't picked It up yet after a little research I decided against it instead opted for a Winchester. I saw that the cannon workmanship and quality was lacking in comparison to the Winchester .

Can I ask you, how did you take the door panel off. I want to perform maintenance on a couple of safes and I don’t want to mess up the panel’s taking them off. I tried calling a locksmith but in my area they are all foreigners that work out of their vehicles, everyone of them lied that they work out of a brick and mortar but when pushed for an address they admitted they didn’t have one. Now after a couple of hours trying to find a trustworthy locksmith I don’t trust anyone.

How much you pay for this safe? I’m looking for something under $500. Looking at the Winchester 26 gun safe. This is nice though

Hey I've had it for about 5 years I cut it on sale I think it was 649 at tractor supply. For the money it's been fine I just recently bought a 26 gun Winchester from there to put my ammo in and I like it a lot I got it on sale for $349.

@rpmtechtv4 жыл бұрын
Just grab some of the attached pouches and lift straight up and out. It's basically just a big piece 3 quarter inch drywall.

You need to open the door, lock the lugs, then you can pull it up and the bottom should be able to kick out. Repeat in reverse to reinstall.
