What superb and magnificent horses Rob! They can keep their thoroughbred's I am and have always been a fan of those wonderful heavy horses whether Suffolk, Shire or my local breed up here in Scotland the Clydesdale. Great characters, superb looking and utterly magnificent creatures..

I did my part as well. My grey mare gave birth a years ago. Bred to a 19.3h stallion she LOVED! It's the first black and white she got after 2 grey colts. She only got 1 filly in her entire life.

Probably tradition and show rules...both are being eased out now. More heavy horses are being left with a natural tail now. Thank goodness!

Do think that breeding more than 3. Foal to a mere is enough for the mare,s life time… I think that should be the law…I feel very sorry that so called humans think more of breeding foals to make money than having a thought for the mare,s welfare…😢😅
