Canoe Camping Wisconsins Longest River!

Never seen adults run from a beaver before lol but I did see a couple of bad beaver confrontation vids so good to be safe. Highly recommend a good quality sleeping pad for adult camping. Kari, you're such a trooper and a sweetheart.

I bought a walmart sleeping bag at the start of my totally broke, homeless prius travels 4 years ago. That was one of the best $30 I ever spent. The point where the zipper merges is finally starting to fail, but I'd sound like Johnny Cash listing all the places I slept in that bag.

If you don't want to take 2 vehicles and mess with parking one at each end you can use a river kyak/ canoe rental place. We usually do a Wisconsin river trip and camping trip in September. We use River's edge next to the boat launch in the Dells. They will pick you and your gear/canoe/kyaks up and drive you back to your car at the boat launch. You tell them what day and around what time and what boat launch down river you want pick up. Just call them about 30 min before you get to the pick up place and they are usually there by the time you get off the river or not long after. Its very reasonable cost too.

I like the idea of bringing a gun, but not for a beaver. Just use the kayak paddle to keep distance or to swat it if it came to that..

Good to see you guys again. 🎉 They do make some nice foldable toilet options; though I usually just lean against a tree 😉 . also really like my moon lence camping chair I got off Amazon. I have the older version and it’s very compact. It packs small enough I can pack it in my backpack when I go hiking and hunting if I’m gonna need a chair. Probably gonna try one of the new high versions at some point.

They only got bad at night, so that's when we broke out our bug spray and put on extra clothing. The second night I opted for no socks, and paid for it later with lots of mosquito bites! 😵‍💫 Thanks for the positivity! 👍

If you like canoe camping, try the Adirondacks Old Forge chain of lakes and the other lakes nearby like Long Lake and Saranac Lake. Also try Algonquin National Park in Canada.

This was a very nice canoe camping trip you had. Your dog was very very good on the trip too. It's just going to take some time for the dog to get use too. I hate it when the water is low so I know what you went through because I do a lot of kayak camping trip with my family and friends a lot. JOE I really like your sandals man. I really like how you was able to walk in the water & on land with them on. I have to kayak barefooted 👣 style because I have big very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. My foot outgrow shoe , socks , & boots when I was 18 years old & Flip flops 🩴 is the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit on my foot Because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴 straps. If I walk in the water with my flip flops 🩴 on they will just Slip right off my foot so I have to go Barefooted 👣 for one & #2. I don't Want to break the only footwear that will fit my feet 🦶 because of how wide my toes are. My toes have broken the flip flops 🩴 straps before because of them being so fat before. Must be the reason you are not seeing anyone else out there...they know that the water level is too low at this time of year?? But at least it was private and peaceful. There are lightweight rollup cushioned mats...not blowup. What would you do way out there if it was really a dangerous animal or people?!

a gun..... if you go camping, and see an animal, please refrain from attacking it, 99.9% of the time the critter just wants to get away from you...
