Canoe the Riri River and Swim in Riri Blue Hole - Shore Tours at Santo, Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu

Reef shoes are really good for these types of excursions, our cheap ones from Kmart have travelled to Vanuatu 5 times now. We visited the same blue hole on a holiday to Santo back in early 2020 and used a canoe from the coast. We were so lucky to have the whole place to ourselves.

Our K-Mart reef shoes just keep going on and on despite them seeming to double up as chew toys for the dogs when we're at home. Canoeing from the coast would have been fantastic.

In 2018 we hired a driver for the day, cost was $120 for the four of us. This ship prices are a joke. Nanda is my pick but Riri is also great. We paid for everything else. We helped paddle and from memory is cost $60 for the four of us. You're correct in saying that a video does not do it justice. An Unforgettable day. Definitely planning to return next year. If you go private and after negotiating a price, only pay when they drop you back at the ship. This was only advised to us afterwards, but luckily the guy we had was one of the good private guys. So much so he would pull over and buy fruit and even Kava for us. When he dropped us back i offered him some more cash but he wouldn't take it. Hopefully he found it on the back floor.

champane beach is a beauiful place to vist, yes on the back of a hilux adds to the fun.

I've been to Champagne Bay before but it's a good few years back now. We would have gone again but it would have been cutting it a bit fine on time after the Riri River and Blue Hole. Maybe next time. Might try and get a ride in the back of a Hilux, I'm sure Ali would be up for that.

Question without notice!!!! When do you recommend doing South West Pacific cruises? SWMBO and I are thinking of flying to Brisvegas and doing one. Remembering of course I'm not that into crowds! Looks like a great spot and cruise you pair.....thanks for sharing! Check your insect repellent....it my have DEET in it and it can cause some plastics to break down. That or the sun screen is causing the same issue. It looks like the sun glasses have leaked on Ali's face.
