Version 2 is one of my most used lenses! It's great to see people still reviewing the old EF L lenses!

Thank you! I love EF glass and will continue to buy Ef glass unless there's a huge price cut on RF lenses

Great video, needs a bigger community. Would only do the voice a bit louder and the background music a bit quieter

Just got back into photography and really do it as a hobby. I used to focus on all types of media when I was a kid and would develop film and make videos with friends back in 2012. Here was my journey getting back into it. Now that mirrorless has taken over, I looked at the r6 mark 2 and was looking like I was going to spend about 2k on the camera. Then a good rf lens was another 1600, so I was considering almost 4k to get back into what will be a hobby. After looking into it deeper, noticed that the mirrorless is really good for video and autofocus and the pictures are great but the r6 at 24mp and a lot of great features I would not use probably was not the best use of my money. So I looked back into the DSLR that I knew growing up. I found a 6d mark 2 for a little less than 500 that was practically new with less that 5k shutter count, and I chose the 24-70 f2.8 version 1 that I found for a little less than 400. I really liked what I was getting for the money with this set up. So long story short, as a budget set up I look at it like, if this was 2012, I have a 4k dollar set up that would just be so awesome to have back then and still am getting great shots now. If you are getting a budget set up to just have fun I highly recommend these older L zoom lenses just for the fact that it is so convenient to get different shots instead of changing out lens after lens. It was a hard toss up to get the 24-105 f4 but the 2.8 is what had me sold being that the 6d does not have flash and I need all the help I can get for low light. My next lens will be a 70-200 f4 and I feel like my hobby rig will be complete!!!

Dude, that is awesome. I was considering the f4 70-200 at one point. and I'll be honest with you, I've been rocking with the 24-70mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8 and I really don't carry anything else in my camera backpack! Though I have a very good photographer friend who upgraded to the Canon 6D MkII and he loves that camera to death haha.

@@_kamkodak Is the 70-200 f2.8 the heaviest lens ever? I was thinking going f4 just to be lighter because the 24-70 is surprisingly heavy. My only complain about it
@_kamkodak13 күн бұрын
@@TheRolexSlayer it is heavy though I always carry a camera strap so it does not bother me

Just got this lens 2 days ago...used and got a 5d mk2 body... notice I can't get crisp focus should I calibrate or just go through the motions.. checking all that what I'm doing wrong first thanks

it depends on the wear and tear of the camera, but the 5dmk2 is an amazing camera. I have heard calibrations may be needed for DSLR cameras. I would try the lens first and make sure it has full contact on the gold pins.
