Thank you so much! I needed to replace the filter ring for my lens, and your video was the first one I've found that actually showed how easy it was to remove! Every other guide I've found was how to disassemble from the other end only!

Just a quick tip, generally the bathroom is the least dusty room in your home. Work on lenses, telescopes, etc. in there. ¡Muchas gracias por tu demonstracion! I just got a speck of dust out of my 55-250 that was causing problems, and it's back to use!

You need a clean room for this. You will instantly have thousands of dust particles in a lens even if you try to clean it in whatever way.

Believe it or not, a light cleaning isn't rocket science, even with most L lenses. If you do happen to work at JPL and they'll let you use one of their positive pressure clean rooms with a biological-grade or higher technician's suit then that's ideal, but usually a bathroom is sufficiently dust-free to satisfy most people. Just be careful, take your time, and use a fresh cloth to clean. My 55-250 had a dust particle on the front of group 2 that was very visible at 250mm and MFD. Had. Is my cleaning job spotless? No. But my lens is back to 100% real-world performance, and instead of costing over half the lens' value, it cost me ten minutes.
