Canon 650D t4i STM 18-135mm test shot

It is - no sound at all. I have held my ear to the lens, I have held an external mic to the lens as it is focusing and there is no discernible sound. The 40mm does produce a slight but audible whine as it focuses.

exactly, that is what the stepper motor is for... completely silent focus. Thanks for the video. My t4i is getting delivered today!

the zooming sounds real quite! was this the on board mic? if so i need to get one because my 18-55mm lens is like a chainsaw when i zoom.

zoom and focus is virtually silent - STM lenses are video optimised

Seems a lot quieter than the 40mm pancake lense.
