Canon C100 MK 1 with DAF|My First Impressions Of Using A 12 Year Old Cinema Camera In 2023.

So far so good I have been definitely enjoying my time with the Canon C100. We'll see how things go down the road.

For my money, the 8 bit are more than enough (narrative short movies). But the slow motion would be an amazing tool with such organic and filmic look.

Without doubt the BEST cine camera you can buy for e 500. Sharp cinematic, full hd image (4K sensor), using Canon EF lenses, ND filters, XLR audio, shutterangle, magnifier, many buttons on the body, no overheating fan on board. Ok, specs out dated but the image quality right out of the box is so good. Lighten well and 8 bit (very good 8 bit) will be not an issue.

Got one including cards, a great handle and batteries for 450€ and I absolutely love working with it. There is something about it that‘s hard to put in words.

I just picked up a C100 MK1 and C300 MK1, have to learn both, coming back into video and when I left I was shooting with Panasonic AG-DVX100b and A, as well as JVC Gyx2b cameras. Because of your video and a few others, I saw all I needed to see footage wise, amazing image quality. Will take all advice for settings and recording modes.

It's a great camera, I still have mine You can actually squeeze slow motion out of it if you record in 50/60i and fudge it in post - it's soft - more like 720P, but usable in a pinch - there are a few videos floating around which show it Main drawback is changing the settings means diving into the menu

Yeah I’ve been loving it. I’m amazed at how good the quality is. I’ve tried the 60i and it’s not bad like you said it works in a pinch

I just ordered one. Not with the DAF upgrade. I will use manual lenses for now. Should work well with my EOS-M with Magic Lantern Crop Mood. The C100 for the longer shots.

The naked eye can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4K, so 1080P is enough

Seeing the difference between 4k and 1080 resolution totally depends on magnification and viewing distance. But i totally agree that 1080 is enough for 99% of users
