I recently paired my c70 with an R3 and have been pretty happy. I def miss build in nds but having one camera with ibis and much better build quality and wether sealing has been nice! I've been really happy with the battery life on it too. I mostly wanted it for when I'm shooting elopements and we always end up with crazy weather on a hike or by the ocean.(I love in PNW). C70 in my A cam most of the time but use the R3 as primary when I need something more rugged and want to snag some photos too. Def not the cheapest route 😂 but I'm happy!
@hellotmrw2 жыл бұрын
Oh whoa that would be a killer combo. I've never used the R3 before but it looks fantastic. How is the IBIS on it? Is it similar to the R5? Yeah we're in Vancouver so I totally get how the weather sealing would be helpful. Not cheap but that kit will serve you well! How do you find those cameras cut together?
@Dannyhallfilms2 жыл бұрын
@@hellotmrw I would assume the ibis is similar but I actually haven't used an R5 or R6. I was scared off by the battery life and overheat issues. I don't use a 15 to 35 at all so the widest I shoot is on a 24 to 70. I haven't experienced much of the infamous wobble though! Matching the two together has been pretty easy so far. I shoot Clog2 on c70 mostly and clog3 on the R3. The R3 is noticeably sharper but whether that's a good or bad thing is really all on preference.they match up pretty well. I will say the main thing I miss on the R3 is false color and wave forms. But I think I can add a small light monitor for that. They also both have Cannon Raw light now, so I'm excited to test out those as well!

I’m right there with you - the C70 is my first exposure (heh) to false color and now I can’t go back. 😭 I also love the built-in NDs. I will say, however, I do love the smaller form factor of the R5C, which is why I plan on getting one instead of another C70. Its small size is an advantage over the C70 IMO. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙌🏾

I've had a C70 for close to a year and a half now. Easily my favorite camera for video that I've ever owned. Had an R5 too, but recently switched out to the R5C. Both amazing cameras. Needed the stills, so went R5C instead of a second C70.. but either way Canon is hitting homeruns right now.
@hellotmrw2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! It's easily my favourite camera I've ever used. Oh the R5C is tempting? For stills it makes so much sense. How are you finding the battery life on it?
@TizOnly12 жыл бұрын
@@hellotmrw the battery life is garbage, but I literally just keep a power bank in my pocket and run the usb cord up to the camera and shoot for however long is needed. Haven't had a single issue with it this way. Power bank also charges my phone and laptop as needed, so it's honestly a great solution.

@@hellotmrw ок. Perhaps the second camera will be just R3, since the battery is important, at the same time you will get a top-end camera with a comfortable grip in both directions? Or R5 with Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip, which will be probably more correct, because the sensor is the same, and cheaper. Take R3 for a review first, compare R5C with R3, in different shooting scenarios, in Log 3, as well as the usual modes that are comfortable for you, and you will understand whether the pictures are comparable, whether it is easy to compare them. They say that R3 at high ISO is predictable in noise, "does not wash" colors, does not soap the picture much, as does the S iii.
