I got one for the dual card slots, and the quiet mode for weddings. I have heard about photographs taking them all over the globe, in the hash's conditions, and it never let them down, not even once.

Nice. Be sure to install Magic Lantern when you do. We recently installed it our 5D, it's revolutionized our filmmaking.

No. All it does is add extra non-native features to the camera. The main bonuses being RAW video and focus peaking, both of which exceptional on this camera.

Excellent review! I currently have a T3i and Tamron 70-300mm lens and Tamron 150-600mm lens for wildlife, sometimes low light. Would the 5D Mark iii be a good next move or is there something even better/cheaper with my lenses. Am considering a Teleconverter for the setup as well. Any suggestions?

Hello, please is the camera good for photography enthusiasts and beginners?
@PhotographyPX2 жыл бұрын
For enthusiasts, yes. For beginners, no. I’d say getting a camera like the EOS T8i would be a better option for that group. But, the 5D Mark III, given the price and its image quality would be a good second camera for a photographer wanting to go full-frame.

Would this camera catch imagines at night time? A friend is going to give me one of these for my holiday and I’m looking to capture the southern lights with it

Its a nice camera. It will not capture in total darkness. There has to be some light.
@danielraad1843 жыл бұрын
I own this camera and shooting in darkness isn’t very good with it. Small amount of light can fix that tho

How would you rate this camera for strictly product photography?
@PhotographyPX3 жыл бұрын
It's a great camera for products, macro, and food photography. The sensor hold's up well, both in detail and dynamic range. So you'll have plenty of range to capture e-commerce styled images and anything in-between.

4K cinema shoot this camera..possible?
@PhotographyPX3 жыл бұрын
Yes. But you can also shoot 4K equivalent resolution by installing the Magic Lantern onto the camera, which is sort of like a jailbreak/software glitch that installs a third party suite of apps to unlock some hidden features. It's fairly easy to setup, and you can record 100% RAW video with the camera for maximum detail and range.

i'm looking for a camera with a fast auto focus and great in low light situations i heard very nice things about this camera i mean 22.3 megapixels is great but i want a full frame camera that can do everything and i learn the camera
@PhotographyPX4 жыл бұрын
Hi. The 5D Mark III is actually quite good in low light and it offers excellent dynamic range, so long as you don't clip the highlights of the scene. As a DSLR, it's a bit chunky and heavy. But, even so, it's quite a solid camera to learn the in's and out's of full-frame. Would definitely recommend it, if its in your budget.

@@PhotographyPX i'm a big dude so i like the heavy body of the camera lol but for now i will buy the camera and learn it and then later on down the road i will get me a 6d mark 2. well thanks for that information i will buy the 5d mark 3 and start taking beautiful pictures what would be a good lens to put on there

@@PhotographyPX plan on taking group photos landscapes portraits and pictures of my sons playing football
@PhotographyPX4 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Take a look at the 16-35 for landscapes. Get the F/4 if it's too out of budget to get the F/2.8 version. And the 700-200 will give you plenty of reach when your son's on the field. For this, get the F/4 and skip the F/2.8 version. The faster lens is totally unnecessary here. You can also consider getting the 70-300, if you want even more reach. (this would depend how far the stands are from the field. Every football field is different in where spectators can sit or stand and watch). this or the 80d?
@PhotographyPX4 жыл бұрын
Hi, both are good. I'd say the main difference besides the 5D having a larger sensor would be wether or not you want the Dual Pixel AF of the 80D. That feature particularly is quite a game changer when it comes to focusing, and it's a key difference between these two cameras. Another thing to consider is if you want the fully articulating screen on the 80D. The screen on the 5D is fixed, and isn't a touchscreen. So it's not versatile when shooting high or low. I'd say the 80D is the better choice all-round. But, the 5D offers better resolution and dynamic range. So it's the better option for landscapes, architecture, and still life photography.

@@PhotographyPX im mainly active in portrait and car photography, my cam at the moment is the eos 1300d (Rebel T6) and i just hate the not so ideal dynamic range and the terrible low light performance. It is a great starter camera, but i really need something new. Do you have any portrait experience with the 5d MIII?
@PhotographyPX4 жыл бұрын
I see. Yes we have experience using the 5D for portraits. Hmm. The dynamic range and low light performance on the 5D will be quite a bit better than the 80D. But, for portraits, i'd say that the 80D would be the better camera. Dual Pixel AF would really help when shooting portraits. It's quite a bit old school to focus recompose these days. But Canon didn't add this feature until they released the 5D Mark IV. And with this feature, it just so much easier to capture sharp portraits, without having to spend so much energy thinking about changing AF points and recomposing. So for this reason, i'd highly suggest the 80D.

5DII/III difference was very small in practical terms. A little more fps - if you only used one card - and slightly better AF, but the sensor and picture IQ was no better. Not worth upgrading to imho (I used both a lot). 5DS/R was Canon's next break through Camera after the 5DII. It held up amazingly well. Only surpassed with the 5R (and 6R if you don't need the pixels).

Hi Kyle, yes the 5D Mark III is an excellent camera for nightscapes and even astrophotography. Check out Victor's site. He uses the 5D Mark III for almost all of the images published on his portfolio. victormartinez.photography
