This is my current camera. :) Does everything I need it to. Screen on top which makes it similar to the Mark 2 and 3 and much more professional for an aps-c sensor camera. I know that technology has changed over the years. And mirrorless cameras are getting much better, and are much more compact, but I imagine holding on to mine for years to come.

Hi - I just googled it and as far as I can tell it shoots 1080p. But according to what I found i and p are the same pixel resolution it's just that p is used when talking about video and TV, i is used when talking about x-box games. - Mike

I must add that the weather-sealing is superb! Looking at the blueprints - it's up to par with the 7D (same sealing!) and personally it has survived a few snowstorms and open rain shoots for me :) Adding the pro flash triggering functions that the 7D has, the rugged body, top LCD, rear dial and pentaprism viewfinder - this is my tool of choice before moving full-frame! I definitely recommend checking this camera out.

the p stands for progressive, whereas the i stands for interlaced. the difference in basic terms is a much nicer image when it is 'p' but that requires more bandwidth compared to 'i'.

@spyduderaj I think the 15-85mm is a standard kit lens and is very good. The old 17-85 it replaces isn't as sharp and isn't really good enough for 18MP from what I hear.

Tried the A77. EVF is definitely better than previous SLT models. But still suffer from the dragging effect when you pan it. Body feels light, can't imagine the balance if you mount a heavy glass. Having tried 60D and D7000. The a77 lacks some useful buttons on the body. Like, metering button and manually selecting AF points had to go thru the menu to set, which is time consuming and pain in the arse.

I'm going to buy this camera within a few months. I have the 400D now , and this is going to be such a improvement. Fot glass i use the 18-135 IS , 60 mm macro 2.8 and 70-300 IS USM all from canon. Can't wait to try :D

Hi Gary. The short answer is probably not. It's more important you know about light, lenses and composition. It's very rare in my experience for a different camera to make any difference at all unless you're doing something specialised and spending big bucks. Have a look at this vid /watch?v=uBQkozxzVUQ

Crop body give u an extra reach because of it's 1.6x crop factor. A 50mm EF lens on full frame is essentially 50mm. On a crop body like 60d or 7d, that 50mm EF lens is 80mm. That's what he meant by 'extra reach ' :)

Mike you are right. I have the 60D & can confirm that it doesn't have a touch screen. Its the 600D that has the touch screen.

When I was looking to upgrade my camera body from the 50D I took a look at the 60D specs, although they were impressive and had some new features/functions I liked. What I didn't like was they actually took away a few features from the 50D that I thought were essential and don't know why they removed them on the 60D. It made my decision very easy to upgrade to the 7D instead and I absolutely love it! It blows the 50D & 60D away in my opinion. Well worth the extra coin. The 50D is a nice backup though. ;) In my opinion those creatives filters on a DSLR are a total waste of time. Who buys a DSLR to edit in camera with silly filter effects. Keep that on the point & shoot models. Although, I will say the 60D got it right with that flip LCD screen. I wish ALL Canon DSLR's had that flip screen.

Which feature from 50D did they leave out in 60D? I'm probably buying an used 60 later this week. However, I'm still researching it. I like what it can do, just looking around for possible issues, which I hope to find as few as possible.

Nice video! I am trying to decide between 60d and 650d kits. I can get the 60d with 18-135(non STM) 100 euros more than the 650d with 18-135 STM. I am an enthousiast, I own no camera right now, used to own a 550d, but cannot wait for the 60d replacement. I have read all reviews about features etc.. 60d: better grip and controls,VF,battery, body, wheel. 650d: digic5, touch screen, video AF etc. Which would you recommend? I am doing mostly stills but want to do video too. What do u recommend?

I bought this camera about 6 weeks ago. I am new to digital photography but while I was surveying for the buy I realized that Canon has not put new research into the camera. They have probably just amalgamated the rebel (t2i) and the pro (7D) lines for market reasons. Works for me though ! How is the dynamic range performance btw? From my little (newbie) experience I find the cam to be restrictive on the range in lower light. Any takes?

Okay I'm just trying to get opinions here. I'm looking into buying my first DSLR. I have been looking at the 60D for a while now. The 70D seems cool, but I'm not sure if its so much better than the 60D or not. The 60D is going for Rs 52,000 on canon India site compared the 70D at Rs 86,000. Is the 70D worth double the price.

Thanks Ashley Cain - though it was Adam Scorey who reviewed the camera as a guest on my channel. Provided you're not shooting sports, astro or anything else specialist it doesn't matter. The lens just collects light from your composition and puts it onto the sensor. The more you spend the better quality it will be but don't get hung up over all the reviews and nit picking that goes on. It's the photographer who takes the picture - not camera or lens :-)

I thought it had 19 focus points like the 7D.....I guess not. I am looking at the Canon site now......only 9. The 7D has 19 (all cross type) I'll keep my 7D. This camera is not worth it. Spend the extra $ and go 7D. I DO wish the 7D had a swivel screen. Others hate them. I wish we had a choice in LCDs. Canon, that a good idea. Give us a choice.
