Can you use the canon rp camera as a webcam plugging it directly usb? Or the elgato hd60s is needed! I ask this because i want to buy the rp full frame for the use as a usb connected to my Mac m1, either that or ill Just get a camera that Just connects usb lkke a zve10 or if the canon m50 mark ii if it allows it to run direct usb.

You need the capture card to use the canon RP as a webcam

What capture card are you using? And did you make sure to follow the steps for the in camera settings and turning on clean hdmi?

I have an EOS Rebel T6 and Avermedia internal Capturecard, but i cannot seem to figure out how to get it to work Avermedia says that there is no signal, but the camera is on and using video-mode, just not certain where to find the HDMI Display setting.

Rebel t6 is not compatible to use with capture card. If you go to Elgato website they have a list of all the cameras that are.

The 2000d isn’t compatible for hdmi streaming unfortunately

I have a canon EOS D6 I hook it up to my Mac mini, I turn OBS on, and I connect the camera but it looks like the zoom is to much and I can’t seem to control it

@@primebeatz108 the EOS D6 is quite an old camera so only the webcam utility might work with it. You wont be able to use it with a capture card. I’m not really sure what could be causing the Zoom on it though. Its most likely a limitation of the camera. Make sure the camera is in video mode

You need to turn off the eco saving mode and also the auto power off in the settings

The 5D does not support live streaming. The EOS R does. If you follow the steps in this video you should be able to get the EOS R to work

Thats strange because it is listed as compatible and has clean hdmi. Have you turned on the clean hdmi feature in settings? I’ve never owned a T6i so it would be hard to tell

You can have a desk mount. Elgato does good ones but there are cheap ones you can get. They are extendable

Do you know if this camera has overheating issues? Like for live streaming for over 12-15+ hours?

I’ve not experienced overheating while streaming. The EOS R doesnt have any major overheating issues in general though I’ve never tried streaming with it for 12-13 hours so couldn’t say for sure. Though I’m sure it wont have an issue if just streaming through hdmi

Dslr has inbuilt mic but I can access only camera not dslr camera with mic. I have to attach another mic to pc. How to access inbuilt mic of dslr from obs

I would recommend attaching separate mic because in built mic is not fantastic. If you want to use inbuilt mic you need to add the camera again as an audio input source in obs

Has anyone managed to get the quality of the the camera in OBS similar to the full quality you have when recording directly to SD card? Considering using this option, but want the highest possible quality for a video. If it it's not possible, I'm considering using a separate streaming camera than the recording camera. Use case is for a live-stream that will be recorded and edited into a final deliverable for the client. Any thoughts?
