Hi Ken, took your advice from the web review. I did purchase the R100 body only and then the most current efs 18-135mm lens. I’m going to play with it to get use to it, but the main reason for the purchase was our upcoming trip to Australia later this summer. Wanted something a bit smaller, lighter, and easy to use. Most importantly, no lens swapping…

Eeech, efs on adapter is like twice the size of the RFS 18-150. This is the lens you want: kenrockwell.com/canon/eos-r/lenses/18-150mm.htm thanks!

Make sure you set your lens fine adjustment if you think it's missing too often, otherwise well, maybe it's worth it. I went from a 5D2 to an RP recently. Awesome camera and the battery life isn't the best, but 4hrs of use for birding is fine enough for me, especially when they're so easy to pocket and you can charge them in-camera with USB
@Twobarpsi7 ай бұрын
@@KenRockwellTV I am spoiled with my SL3 Rebel though. It has dual pixel autofocus with eye and face tracking in live view, which really hits focus. The 5D MKII, isn't missing a lot, just the typical missed shots you always get with a DSLR. The picture quality is top notch!

You’ve seen my written reviews at KenRockwell.com, also see my full frame comparison at www.kenrockwell.com/tech/comparisons/nikon-vs-canon-vs-sony-full-frame.htm. While the z50 is better than most Nikons, it’s out of date and the Canon system is superior for most kinds of shooting. Does this help? Email me at my website if you need more data. Thanks!!!!!!!

@@KenRockwellTV thank you! I actually purchased a Z5. I was excited to try full frame but the autofocus was not good and I need a built in flash. I most likely will be returning/exchanging the Z5 for the R10. The only concerning thing would be that the R10 looks like it over-sharpens at higher ISO’s and makes the details look crunchy. Let me know if I should consider anything else.

@@SimonDanson The 250D is known as the SL3 in America, and I've reviewed it in detail at www.kenrockwell.com/canon/sl3.htm. its a crappy camera; I'm surprised Canon sells it in the developed world. Agreed. The R100 skips too much for me, but we all have different needs and budgets. Canon was founded almost 100 years ago on making a version of the new LEICA camera that normal people could actually afford, and this spirit has never died: great photos with affordable, practical cameras. Thanks!

Thanks again. For the money it looks like a super little camera and as much as some would ever use anyway. As much as I like Canon some of their omissions not much farther up the line seem perplexing...Maybe not by much but sensor covers and ultrasonic sensor cleaning are simple handy things. Maybe they think target people will go poking at sensor covers and that's more likely a warranty V a clean they can charge for? No USB charging in 2024 seems a plain oversight trying to prize people away from phones whilst explaining they will need to clean a sensor more often than might be needed unless they go R7?........Again target audience in mind???? Nice little offering overall though...
