It's worth noting that the damsel in distress trope draws its origins partially from the story of St. George and the dragon. The damsel in the story is the sacrifice made to a dragon that has been terrorizing a city for years which is red as a act of desperation. Isaac gets damsel in distress trope really well I think, especially in his analysis of the characters.
