CANON G7X MARK 2 VS CANON SX740 HS: which one should you buy for your KZbin channel?
Comparing my old vlogging camera to my new one, I personally prefer the G7X because it works so well in low light but I do think it looks super nice when you're filming by a window. What do you guys think? What do you use?

It's easy to tell without buying if you learn camera specs. If you don't care about zoom then go for g7x. The super zoom camera is not meant for low light. It's a outdoor travel cam. The lower f number means it will do better in low light. G7x is 1.8, the zoom camera is 3.3... Gx7 has a larger 1 inch sensor. The zoom camera has a sensor the same size as a cell phone.

I had two canon g7 markii’s and I broke both of them carelessly so I got the canon powershot sx740 and I’ve noticed a huge change! I do a lot of vlogs at night and I am definitely going to be going back to the g7x again!!

SX740 HS has 40xzoom while G7X only 4xzoom. Good to have both cameras.. :)

the low lighting is bad because it runs really only at 30 frames witch is awful in low lighting, the g7x runs in 24 30 and 60, witch is why it's much better, that and it sharpens.

I used the Program mode for shooting night scene video on the SX740, a bit better than the video mode but not as good as G7

Omg thanks so much. I used to have Nikon cool pix... (I sadly messed up the lens) which does fine in good lighting but indoors with poor lighting not great at all. Was debating between the two and I might just get the canon g 7 x refurbished because I live in a gloomy city and need something which does well in low lighting. Couldn't see much difference G7X was marginally better yes definitely could see the tv better but you should have taken some pics so we could compare picture quality difference is the extra £200 justified? ..

I bought my Canon SX740 HS mainly to be able to take pictures and film in 4k from a long distance during concerts. Which it delivers on.. However the video quality is worse than my phone

I have the Canon G7X Mark II and I bought it quite a few years ago. I use it mainly for pictures and have not vlogged on it yet. I don’t have a Gorilla pod tri-pod either. I find that the auto-focus is kinda shoddy when taking close-up pictures. It’s strange that Canon only has the Mark III successor and that was released several years ago. I think the iPhone Pro 13 might be why.

From my experience yes, the g7x also has a hard time focusing sometimes but aside from that I didn't experience that many more differences. :)

What setting do you have your 740? Because sometimes mine comes out so bad when it’s at 1080p

I played around with the settings a lot to try to make it work in the kitchen and low light but nothing really made it as sharp!

You mean like a ring light? You can definitely use that! I personally think that it not being good in low light just makes it very grainy and blurry in general and that’s why I preferred the g7x

The canon sx740 is dog shit, I regret buying it on black Friday, I'd much rather just wait until the g7x is available next time, and I have no clue if I can get a refund and canon doesn't advertise the blurry stuff either, so it's really annoying.
