You know I'm not an avid viewer of KZbin content related to photography or the equipment that goes with it but every once in a while Ill watch a video when something catches my interest or like right now from time to time I'm in the market for a new camera after so many years and something I can't help but to notice over time is the honesty of this channel. Iv'e always appreciated it, you can tell these guys are genuine down to earth people and they're not motivated to rip you off in order to make some extra cash. I just wanted to put that out there, it means allot to me when I find honest review channels especially when it comes to such high priced products like cameras.

To clarify: the camera doesn´t work in camera mode when an usb cable is plugged in. It only charges, or if connected to a computer, can do data transfer. If you want to run the camera out of a power bank, you have to buy dummy batteries. :)

Hello, I hope you or someone could help me. I have the Canon G7x MarkII. Every time I film something, my videos have a wear sound (crack crack) is like the lens is continue focusing, and I don't now what to do. I can hear my voice but also de lens and it's annoying. I watch the video but I´m not sure if your camera do the same. I want to use it for vlogging and I don't want to use an external mic. Do you know what I have to do to remove that sound?? Or using final cut pro or iMovie. I hope some one can help. Thank you

I got one like 2 months back and love it, especially for the quality of pictures and the 60fps video. But, I read in a forum that another member mentioned that after a short time he saw dust below the lens... well, unfortunately mine has two longer kind of dust hairs below the lens!!! I will see how bad it's gonna be and exchange it for a new model in a few weeks and hope the warranty will cover this as it's a shame for Canon that a high end pocket cam with a sealing problem for that kind of money...

You may be right about this as a VLOG cam at 11:27 but the "point for it" is that this G7x II is a quality point and shoot you can carry in a pocket or belt case. The size difference is significant because I'd carry this G7x II and I wouldn't carry a larger camera that requires a shoulder bag.

Sony gives a cumbersome menu system short zoom range (24-70) and no touch screen in their premium priced and hyped 4th gen RX100IV (neither in a6xxx or a7 series has touch screen in 2016!!!!). You pay over $1000 for the camera but they charge extra $15 for a piece of sticky rubber grip which is kind of must if you don't want to drop the camera and another $10 for a time lapse app. I don't like their business model...
@Ranblv8 жыл бұрын

Sold. As a G9X owner, I didn't see the G7X as worth the extra money. Now, I miss that faster lens that I had gotten used to on my 1/1.7 Pentax MX-1 and Olympus XZ-1. Also, I and my family have dropped the G9X at least 3 times now, due to the tiny size. Don't sweat the hate from the Canon-loyal. You got that because Sony makes so much good stuff, across so many industries, it's just too easy for the underdogs to hate them.

Personally, when factoring in many different elements, including price, I consider the G7x mk2 to be the best camera in the world for the average punter wanting to buy a decent camera. Spec wise the Sony wins, price wise the Canon wins by a mile. This is the best camera channel on the internet.

In terms of ergonomics and functionality, Canon seems to have taken a few pages from Olympus's XZ-2 compact camera (which was released way back in 2012). Some notable features: - manual switch for de-clicking the front ring dial - tilt-screen - USB charging - similar front and rear rubber grips The older XZ-2 even has a hotshoe that allows (a) an optional EVF or (b) external flash units (2nd curtain sync possible with manual flash!), while Canon's G7X Mk.II supports neither.

Got this on loan from my niece. I did some testing with it. The camera shows the face tracking box and appears to be tracking my face, however when looking at the footage on my PC, it realized that overthought, it appeared to track my face, it was focused on the background most of the time when zoomed in. At the wide end, it did OK because most everything is in focus at that point. I have to return the camera so I wanted to see how it compared to my a6100 with the Sony E 16-50 PZ kit lens. While the a6100 appeared to loose track of my face more very often, looking at the footage on my PC, it shows that it was actually able to keep my face in focus more consistently than the G7X II. One thing that made the G7X attractive was the 4x zoom lens. However, I did notice that once I zoomed in, the image quality dropped drastically in my indoor test. The Sony with Clear Image zoom, on the other hand, held up nicely. Granted, the Sony is not as portable but , With the kit lens, it fits in a small shoulder bag and it is not pocketable but very portable.

I like how there seem to be just as many comments about the GH4 as there are about the G7X II! Also, I have the G5X and quite like it most of the time. It's guts are the same as the G7X but the added controls, more flexible screen, and EVF make it a joy to use. The only bad things are the inconsistent AF and the softness of the lens at the wide end. I really hope they do a Mark II version with the clickless selector and a mic jack, but I doubt they'd do the later to protect their DSLRs.

The lack of a viewfinder is actually not such a big deal! I know expert photographers are fast to criticise cameras without one, but people have been using phones just fine!! The RX100M4 has one, but pop it up to use it and you can't simply switch back to the rear LCD if you wanted to-the viewfinder has to be pushed down-and it turns the camera off! Having a tilting screen is far more useful than a viewfinder-opens up so many photographic possibilities-especially for small flowers close to ground level!! I don't do much video and I am no expert, but I have seen vloggers on youtube using the camera with great results, and the sound is pretty good. You can't deny that many good people with skill are making very good clips using this fine camera! True, its "only" HD video, but nothing wrong with that either, because the quality is so good-and the fine in-body stabilisation works brilliantly! But my main gripe with some cameras like the RX100 series is the handling. The body is so smooth that it doesn't feel safe-get a grip Sony. It may have 4K, better video features blah blah but if you're not happy actually handling a camera it doesn't matter what it can do. So very well done to Canon with the design of their body and a decent grip! And with an ideal, sensible zoom range with a fast 2.8 aperture at 100mm, the Canon is a compelling choice for discerning enthusiasts! No compact is perfect, but the Canon does score well where it counts the most-and nobody mentioned the price! Great for the money, especially now in 2018! The Sony RX100 series are just ridiculously overpriced and should have a more ergonomic design for what they cost!!

Does this have override on the automatic exposure for video? An old pocket Fuji of mine from about 6 years ago has up to minus two stops and plus two stops over the automatic exposure for video. Auto still functions if you move it around or keep it still, but the range of two stops in thirds in both directions on top of the auto is a very handy tool. On a camera that I bought on ebay for $12 dollars. With a 15x Optical. But 6 year old compression looks like it.

Great Video I have 2 questions regarding the audio - I am a food Vlogger and most of my videos are shot in very high background noise in India (Traffic+people). Presently I shoot with my Samsung phone but have almost finalized the Canon G7X Mark II but am a little concerned that in the absence of External MIC - how will it fare in Audio - will it suppress the background noise - will it record good audio even if I am standing at a distance (let's say 10 feet or so)? - especially in high background noise? Second question is regarding recording audio with smartphone: I do my editing on filmora. If I record audio separately then it will be a very tedious job to lip sync with video - let us say if I mute my video and use smartphone recorded voice-over. Filmora's auto-ripple works only with either detached audios or voiceover done by filmora itself. if i cut a few mini portions of my video then how do I match the voice with video ??
@jonathanbrady20138 жыл бұрын
I noticed some sound variances. The sound was especially muted when Jordan was filming himself. Also, it looks like the shadows were lifted pretty heavily in a lot of scenes, to the point that it didn't look natural (shadows too light). Perhaps just my monitor?

Pardon me for repeating myself, but not enough videos talk about the manual override of exposure in video mode. It usually means exposure compensation of up to plus 2 and down to minus two stops, while the camera is still doing auto exposure. It just shifts the base line, while the camera will still adjust exposure from the new bias you set. I always want to know what camera you're using to film with, though, as that's the best...

Sorry, I'm focussing much more on your amazing background extras, Calgary seems ideal for candid pedestrian portraits. Can we acknowledge the smart looking basketballers and the Armani model in the grey suit who gets away with fastening BOTH buttons, at 0:30? What is happening in Calgary!

Hello dear, I have a canon G7x mark ii I got to SCN mode and select Self portrait mode. I click on the smooth skin effect and adjust it to my liking. Taking a photo is fine and has the effect. I then press the record button but it doesn't apply the effect.
