You know I'm not an avid viewer of KZbin content related to photography or the equipment that goes with it but every once in a while Ill watch a video when something catches my interest or like right now from time to time I'm in the market for a new camera after so many years and something I can't help but to notice over time is the honesty of this channel. Iv'e always appreciated it, you can tell these guys are genuine down to earth people and they're not motivated to rip you off in order to make some extra cash. I just wanted to put that out there, it means allot to me when I find honest review channels especially when it comes to such high priced products like cameras.

Hello, I hope you or someone could help me. I have the Canon G7x MarkII. Every time I film something, my videos have a wear sound (crack crack) is like the lens is continue focusing, and I don't now what to do. I can hear my voice but also de lens and it's annoying. I watch the video but I´m not sure if your camera do the same. I want to use it for vlogging and I don't want to use an external mic. Do you know what I have to do to remove that sound?? Or using final cut pro or iMovie. I hope some one can help. Thank you

Thank you! You confirmed this camera was made for me. I very seldom take video because my main goal is to take tons of photos then go into the studio and paint landscapes from those lovely pictures while gazing upon them on my Mac! Plus, I don't want to do the whole DSLR thing because I'd rather paint than do photography and I know photography takes years to learn. Thanks!

Excellent video. I LOVE my G7x mk2. I agree with everything you say in this video. Personally, when factoring in many different elements, including price, I consider the G7x mk2 to be the best camera in the world for the average punter wanting to buy a decent camera. Spec wise the Sony wins, price wise the Canon wins by a mile. This is the best camera channel on the internet.

You may be right about this as a VLOG cam at 11:27 but the "point for it" is that this G7x II is a quality point and shoot you can carry in a pocket or belt case. The size difference is significant because I'd carry this G7x II and I wouldn't carry a larger camera that requires a shoulder bag.

Got this on loan from my niece. I did some testing with it. The camera shows the face tracking box and appears to be tracking my face, however when looking at the footage on my PC, it realized that overthought, it appeared to track my face, it was focused on the background most of the time when zoomed in. At the wide end, it did OK because most everything is in focus at that point. I have to return the camera so I wanted to see how it compared to my a6100 with the Sony E 16-50 PZ kit lens. While the a6100 appeared to loose track of my face more very often, looking at the footage on my PC, it shows that it was actually able to keep my face in focus more consistently than the G7X II. One thing that made the G7X attractive was the 4x zoom lens. However, I did notice that once I zoomed in, the image quality dropped drastically in my indoor test. The Sony with Clear Image zoom, on the other hand, held up nicely. Granted, the Sony is not as portable but , With the kit lens, it fits in a small shoulder bag and it is not pocketable but very portable.

Nice review as always. The misses was looking for a compact camera and I looked at the canon g7x mk1 and mk2 and for the money and features I ended up with a rx100iii, the view finder is just a massive bonus, the autofocus is great aswell as the video, she absolutely loves it and I'm still blown away by the stills from it for such a small camera.

Great Video I have 2 questions regarding the audio - I am a food Vlogger and most of my videos are shot in very high background noise in India (Traffic+people). Presently I shoot with my Samsung phone but have almost finalized the Canon G7X Mark II but am a little concerned that in the absence of External MIC - how will it fare in Audio - will it suppress the background noise - will it record good audio even if I am standing at a distance (let's say 10 feet or so)? - especially in high background noise? Second question is regarding recording audio with smartphone: I do my editing on filmora. If I record audio separately then it will be a very tedious job to lip sync with video - let us say if I mute my video and use smartphone recorded voice-over. Filmora's auto-ripple works only with either detached audios or voiceover done by filmora itself. if i cut a few mini portions of my video then how do I match the voice with video ??

Why do you insist that G7 X MkII and Sony RX100 are in the same price range?! in most markets G7 X MkII is at least around 200usd or so cheaper than RX100 III or RX100 IV. even the G3 X is usually cheaper than RX100 IV!

You need to do a review of the new Canon G7X Mark iii. I won't buy it though, one thing I truly miss is a hot shoe. At this onto this size camera and you have some amazing power in terms of using off-camera flash.

According the user manual, what you say at 7:17 about shooting timelapses is not correct. The manual states that "you cannot shoot while the battery is charging". I don't have the camera myself, so I can't confirm or deny it. It would be nice though if that actually worked.

hmm.. what can I add that hasn't been said already?.. Doesn't matter if it's at the top tier like the new 5dm4, or mid/lower end such as the EOS-M's, or simple P&S compact cameras such as this one... mostly, with very very few exception, Canon always seems to be come short of offering a new product that blows everything else out of the water, and they are overall really slow to make changes and put back to back significantly new products.. so, with all that space to seemingly develop and put something mindblowingly awesome into the market, they somehow always seem to fail and come in at the same level, often below, the competition at best. Although they are lacking behind in major ways, I have to say there are still a lot of Canon shooters and they are and have been doing very well with much older generations of cameras.. I mean that goes to saying something about Canon design and usability over the years.. actually, unless you really need to, I feel most Canon users are just fine with the older gear.. it works and they still make money with them.. but, bringing it back to 2016, I feel sorry Canon isn't making more progressive efforts to push their products across the line farther ahead of the game than they have been for so many years for their loyal customers.

Very nice video, this helped me a lot. The display screen looks really crap tbh, I'd be looking for EVF all day. But from other reviews etc comparing Sony, the Canon really does have more versatility with the longer focal length and the colours also look much nicer to the eye, whether or not it is actually "natural".

Canon do seem to be producing some nice gear with great features these days. However they still appear to be playing catch up rather then racing ahead with innovation like they used to. I switched to Sony (a7r) a few years ago and now have the a7rII and still don't regret it. I think Canon is falling into that old trap of leading giants: product protection. i.e. purposely crippling features to protect sales of other cameras. Case in point, the 5D mkiv video features. They think they are in competition with their own products (all manufacturers are to an extent) rather than other brands.

My mom is planning to take pictures at upcoming weddings and she came across this camera and she likes it. But recently, we also came across Canon Powershot SX730 HS, we both thought they looked pretty similar, almost the same except the hUgEE price difference. So I’m stuck between these two cameras, which would you recommend to beginners, what do you think is worth the money, is stable, good pictures if you know how to work the camera, idk, etc. Excluding the prices, which one would be better. (I haven’t used cameras like these before, don’t know many of the features or functions but I can get the hang of things easily since I was able to get my hands on one Canon Powershot camera and got to use some of the functions)

You must have configured the external mic very poorly as the internal mic sounded much better. The external mic sounded extremely muffled.
