The adapter works very well and is good value for money. How well it performs is down to the lens you are using the adapter with. For instance, if you want to use it with a full frame camera you have to connect to a lens that gives full frame. You will lose functions that need a lens designed for the camera but they may be ones that you don’t use very much.

Hi Maik, did eye-af and face recognition works on canon Ef 200 f2.8 L ii USM on a7r ii. some youtubers said centre af works but you can't recompose your images with adapters.

I guess the Eye AF is not working only the normal AF. I switched all to sony lenses now

The CM-EF-E HS adapter looks like its fast set to CDAF mode on a CDAF body like the A7s II etc from a handful of videos I saw.

Yes the AF works in video mode but not the AF-C so you have to press the shutter button half way

Joxe Angel To be honest I switched this lens with the Sony 85mm 1.8 because it’s sharper and super fast AF. Otherwise use the CM EF E HS adapter which is linked in the description. It works but the focus is not so fast then the Sony lens and no consistent at tracking possible. You can order and test it out ;)

Thank you Maik for your post. I have the first version before the HS series and have had my eye on the HS. Now, you are showing the version 2 but I cannot find it any place. Commlite version is not even making it clear. Could you tell me where did you find yours please?

Hmm it looks like the version 2 is not available in the US. Write an email to Commlite there will change the on. That's what I did ;-)

You know, I am heavily invested in Canon Glass and it‘s good to see that that there is an adapter Solution that brings in the positive things from Sony like IBIS or eye-AF. I use a 5DSR for Landscape/Nature. But sooner or later there will also be a body for other stuff like street or portrait. As soon as I do this step, now I know there is a viable option with that adapter. Yabadabadoo!! Again, great video! ä

I have one question does the adapter change the focal length at all ? I'm looking to adapt a canon 17-40 to the a7iii. will it still be 17mm at its widest ?

Just a little bit but not much. I had the 16-35mm with the adapter together and no problem I had more Issues with an ND filter and got some vignetting. You can buy it and test it out otherwise send it back ;-) I still use the adapter with my Sony A7 III and it works fine.

The eye focus works with the adapter. I tested with the Canon 85mm f1.8 and 24-70mm f2.8

Mac Guyver Kann den adapter nur sehr empfehlen achte aber auf Version 2, V22 wie im Video zu sehen und in der Beschreibung zu kaufen.

There are pretty tight and the AF is really quick. I had only some problem with the 70-200 because its heavy and the connection got lost and 5 sec freezing cam. I really like the adapter and you always should keep in mind It would never be the same If you use a Canon body with the lenses. But It works fantastic

Hi Maik, nice video btw, i just bought the a7RII with the new commlite, but seems im running with problems at the start. All my lens go in a focus loop when i turn on the camera, and after like 10 attemps they all focus perfect and fast. When i go to the commlite page to download the new firmware, there is no access to any tutorial and i dont know how to update it, just drag and drop the files into the adapter's folder? does the adapter has to be conneted to the camera or not? i dont know whats causing my problem :(

Sad to hear but if you have the version with the USB micro inside the adapter then you have automatically V22 otherwise connect the Adapter with the pc/mac and copy only the .nex file to the adapter device it's like a USB stick. Wait and the rest goes automatically and you can connect it with your camera. hope I could help you with it. Otherwise write a mail to them

@@MaikKleinert I dont know why and how, but the problem was with my SD card (yes o_o) i didnt format it when my new camera arrived. Now all my lenses work just fine except my sigma 30mm 1.4 cause is not compatible (just the autofocus so no big deal), im having a great time with this monster, thank you for your time!!

To be honest I think not If you do not have the USB inside the adapter it won't work. If so then let me know. You can get in touch with commlite if there maybe updated it now. But that's the reason why I did this video and also bought the Version 2 (V22)

Im not sure about version 2 but seems like sigma lenses doesn't worth with commlite adapters(i use the old and new hs adapter)

It works! I use a Sigma 50mm art f1.4 and 12-24 4.5-56 if sigma lenses are not working then it's not the version 2 ;-)
