Holy shit this footage breaks apart at high ISO. Why in hell would someone dump a proported $30k on a camera which performs subpar to a $2k A7s . . . WTF Canon?

3:00 in is the coolest thing I’ve seen in my entire life it’s all downhill from here…

A brilliant piece of technology. Just awesome what canon created here. BeyondSlowMotion: Most of the scenes in the video were filmed at an ISO-Level your A7S cannot even reach. Being able to make a whole scene visible in pure dark night is just awesome (4 Million ISO btw.). In that case i definitly stick to PsyDeis opinion. James Harvey, no commend on that. That piece is definitly impressiv - it would be just that no matter if it was developed by Canon, Sony or Nikon..

To me this footage doesn't look as impressive as the results from the a7s, I wonder why :/

+James Harvey Because the a7s was shhoting at a max of 32'000 ISO, the zoo shots before the lights were turned off were 102'000, it was much darker than moon light, but looked just as good as the a7s with a bright moon and stars at 32'000 ISO

Unfortunately, youtube compression won't let appreciate the video at low light. Adds lots of compression artifacts to the camera noise.

The quality is fixed from KZbin compression

The a7rII reaches only 25 600 of native iso, much of this footage is 4 times that or more, idk what these guys are whining about. jesus. Sony user, btw.

You would think they would repaint it before doing studio shots of it.

Looks like Canon has produced the first $20,000 paperweight. I've seen better low light footage on an A7S and better clarity + dynamic range on Canon DSLRs running Magic Lantern.

The night shots don't look that impressive. Pretty shitty actually. Sony A7sI and II test footage I've seen is way cleaner and usable for 1/10th of the cost.
