Canon R10 after a year... NEARLY

I just came back from an Alaska trip. Took an R3 + R10. Used R10 with a 16mm (that is equivalent to a 24mm because of the 1.6x crop). Nothing to complain. Used it most of the time as the wide angle camera and after I came back home I printed several shots I got with the R10. You just can't tell the difference on printed paper.

I love this and agree what what you say. The R10 with the 16mm is great combo and I use this a combo a lot. And the images when printed can be fantastic ✌🏼

Sold my RP for this R10. Why? The autofocus and FPS blows the R and the RP out the water.

I bought the R10 to supplement my R5. Mainly to travel much lighter. I am impressed with the R10, it’s very much like a mini R5 in my opinion. The image quality is good for photos though I tend to have to process the files more than the R5 to make the best of them. Thoroughly agree with your views

@@burakburak094 I do use all my RF lenses with both the R5 and R10. However I mainly prefer to use lighter lenses with the R10 so the RF100-400 and 16mm f2.8 get the most use.

I was debating on so many different canon cameras for a few days. And I just bought the r10 after watching a few comparison videos. After I bought the r10, I seen this video. And I'm that much happier to know that a year later it's being praised so much.

I've been thinking about getting either the R10 or the R7 as a second body to supplement my R5. The Crop body, whichever I need up getting, would be mostly used for shooting birds and wild life with a 150-600 tele lens and would give me needed extra "apparent" reach when shooting in that venue. The only thing I really dislike about the R10 over the R7 is the fact that the R10 will not use the same batteries as my R5 whereas the R7 will use the same batteries.

The R10 and R50 are both great choices. For the serious hobbyist, the R10 is probably a better option to grow in. I am considering buying one in 2024. Saving up instead of taking credits is always better.

both great cameras, i prefer the R10, the two cameras are very similar in a lot of ways, but found the R50 to be more designed to use the touch screen, more buttons dials nad joysticks on the R10 whic hare supper handy. i agree save for your gear.

I had the 18-45mm and it kept the camera really compact and light. And as a kit lens I was impressed over all with that lens. And it can take some really good photos with that combo

Did you miss IBIS in R10. Now I'm using two camera. R10 & Olympus e-m10m3 and short summary :) there is not any perfect camera. r10 of course way better than Olympus but stil it's a joy to take picture with Olympus it's a fun camera.

I agree completely there isn’t one. Perfect camera, everyone needs or wants different things. But the R10 is a joy to use. No really with the ibis. I’m sure those that have had ibis probably miss it but I don’t. It’s also not one of the reason I look at a camera. But I know for some people it’s an important feature

I’ve never left it at home for because of the weather, but then I’m not the sort of person that worries about it, it’s definitely been rained on a few times, light rain that is, as I’m not really someone that would shoot in heavy rain. But if I was at a waterfall or somewhere there was a high chance of a lot of splashing I’d be more comfortable using something else. But I’m also now wonder exactly how much water it can withstand 🤔😂

This is a tricky one as lens choice is always personal preference, I’m personally love the rf85 f2 it has really good Marco features, and I just prefer the 85mm focal length, but bare in mind that with the R10 there is a crop factor so you won’t see the full image produced by the lens so with the crop from the 85 you will see around 135mm so the 50mm will have more flexibility everyday with the R10. But think about what works for you and every use case for each lens, either of these lens would be good as they are great lens. I brake the Norm a little as I’m not a huge fan of 50mm but I know a lot, lot of people are

Honestly the RP is still a great camera and for photography it is probably slightly better than the R10, it’s better in low light and has the bigger full frame sensor. But you would need to purchase used. The R10 has the advance with the animal tracking auto focus. And faster continuous shutter speed at 23fps. Battery life is also better. It’s also a purchase one new. These are both great cameras honestly. And will both be a upgrade from the 550d ✌🏼

Having had the Canon 70d which was a great camera, for my I found Canon R10 is performs better in lowlight then the 70D. The AF is better and more responsive. I also found the thumb stick on the R10 very useful, You will notice that the R10 is smaller and lighter. The top LCD on the 70d is a nice touch, and I used to use that a lot. But once I didn’t have it I did adjust. The battery life on the 70d is better as it uses bigger battery’s. But the canon r10 and 6 battery’s are lighter that the 70d and 1 battery. (Lens not included) If you have a few lens with EF make sure you have the EF-RF adaptor. So you can still use them if you go for a canon mirrorless, I hope that helps in so way. Camera choice always come down to your own particular needs.

i really like the R10 and it works well for sports photography. With the kit lens it depends on where you are shooting, indoors with the kit lens you like struggle as the aperture isn't great. but bright days outside you would be fine. ✌

I actually use the GH5 II else where for work and they are good. And the GH5 video spec and capabilities are better than the R10. But my preference is the R10, I prefer the slightly bigger sensor. And the ergonomics of it. It’s simple to use, but I’m a canon user so it’s more what I’m familiar with. But if you are looking at the GH5 II it’s more R7 price and I would pick that over the GH5 it’s closer spec wise and then has the bigger sensor and ergonomics. But honestly pick what you prefer all great cameras in there own right. ✌🏼

I prefer the the EOSR for photography, the R10 is great but is a better hybrid than the R the R10 has fast FPS for photography but to me that’s not important. I’m more of a hybrid shooter and it’s the video element that I love with the R10. But photography R vs the R10, the R wins

Yes, definitely, any camera is as good as the person holding it. but i take pictures with this and my R8 and you couldn't tell the difference which camera took which.
